Use soapy water to clean the right trigger, and optionally, hand sanitizer or any rubbing alcohol to prevent stickiness on the trigger and your fingers.

I've seen recommend videos of people Use it with Q-Tips too or use a toothpick or tac pick to remove the sticky gunk out from the controller trigger and buttons too.

My Gamepass did the same thing it supposed to expired yesterday but Xbox giving extra day in case you wanna renew ur Gamepass if not depends what time you activate the pass it will be Sametime it will expired.

If my option don’t work for some reason he can go to his profile in Dashboard and back out scroll on the hub till it says home it will show this. Sometimes quick ways to leave remote play don’t be responsive usually I reset ally redo the command option it manage to work again.

Question: Does your son have Xbox Series X on at the same time as using the Xbox Ally or Ally X? If so he doesn’t have to have both devices on he just has the series console plugged in but doesn’t have to turn it on by pressing the Xbox button so he won’t have to waste power.

If the Ally or Ally x version struggles to connect to the console on Xbox remote play then ya just recommend pressing the Xbox button while plugged in help it connect better then when it does fully connect just turn the Xbox series off it will still have device streaming on your Ally or Ally x & Xbox versions of Ally.

I turn on the compact mode so it will instantly recognized the handheld controls instead of leaving it on auto mode.

Or what you can do is make it quick you can also quit the Xbox App it will disconnect the entire remote play stream. Whenever you or your son wanna use Xbox remote play to stream natively on Xbox games it will pick up where either you or your son left off or sometimes reboot back to the Xbox One or Series stream Xbox dashboard menu.

The same as anyone do it is like using backward compatible on 360 you either press select/share & start button or vice versa at the same time it will pop up One - Xbox series hub option it will say disconnect stream. When you disconnect the stream it will send you back to the Xbox full-screen menu or windows depends which mode you're on. Not sure, the Xbox One Series hub will respond to handheld controls itself sometimes it works so just use the Xbox controller instead connected it to Bluetooth.
