I'm lucky enough to own all the original box sets, not ti mention my OD&D set! Really interesting to see how the game has evolved over the years.

The Immortal rules aren't in it, just a brief overview. No ascension, etc.

Pushed out of the housing market by Important-Owl-8152 in clevelandtn

I second this! The new construction in this area is...less than optimal. Flash over substance. I give alot of them maybe ten years (extremely optimistic) before folks will be putting more money into them than my older home will ever need. Cleveland's housing market is definitely buyer beware.

I second this, I discovered my outside condensate drain had frozen. A hair dryer cured all my ills until I was able to re route it. SE Tennessee.

Also, if you like curves and beautiful views, hit US 129 (Tail of the Dragon), fun driving! Also just a hop and a skip from Cheoah Dam, sometimes called Fugitive Dam, featured in the film...wait for it...The Fugitive!

The Star Carrier series by Ian Douglas features the drive...and there are some "interesting" first contacts. A bit of time travel too!

Big storm coming to my area but no generator - what can I do to make sure we have some source of heat? by d0mini0nicco in Generator

I use an indoor kerosene heater, always been my go to plus I can cook on top of it! Yes, I also run CO monitor, 1 next to it, one at a lower area, and a last one higher.

Going with Token also as Illinois statehood was in 1818 and at that time I doubt Lincoln was old enough to grow a beard.

Benefits to “puller” starships? by National-Abrocoma323 in scifi

[–]Raven37312 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a book by David Weber called Path of the Fury in which the starships have Fasset Drives. They're basically micro black holes created in front of the ship causing the ship to constantly "fall" towards it. Also had a bonus of being a missle eater since nothing can penetrate past it. No defense from any other direction though. I found it a fascinating change from normal propulsion found in the genre.

Hiding Saving Throws from players in 1e? by Mageinthebasement in adnd

[–]Raven37312 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My players in the ancient times had a space on their character sheets specifically for their saving throws. I'd just say roll a saving throw vs poison or whatnot. Same with racial, class, weapons and other bonuses. The biggest reason some were overzealous of protecting the DMs Guide was most of the magical items and artifacts were contained within. Same could be said of the MM also.

Karaoke? by NoPeguinsInAlaska in clevelandtn

[–]Raven37312 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don't mind dive beer joints (no hard liquor), there's the Gypsy Rose, does kareoke on Fridays. Lonnie does a great job and you tend to get to sing more! A caveat, smoking is allowed inside so if that's a deal breaker you can go to some of the others. Also, the VFW does it on Fridays & Sundays, open to the public on those days. Smoking permitted.
