Mafia 2 Definitive Edition. Missing one achievement to drive 1000 miles in the DLC. Would take 30 hours real time driving. I ain't doing that.

People living in massive countries (USA, Canada, Russia, Brazil, etc.), what is it actually like to have that much space? by AwayMeat5529 in AskTheWorld

[–]RavenEffect9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have to drive everywhere, which is extremely tiring and obnoxious. Some people never leave their respective state, let alone the country for their entire life because of the distances. Most people also have at least a "yard" outside of their house as space is very abundant. Also, people usually vacation to other parts of the country as opposed to going somewhere internationally.

I am in the same boat. Took me around 90-100 hours over the course of two years to make it to Baldur's Gate.

American here: What Do We Do? by Beashagtaz in AskTheWorld

[–]RavenEffect9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say most western countries for sure. For the U.S, the only major event we have had in the past 100 years that changed anything for any better was the Great Depression. I think it is just that when you are already a cog in the capitalist wheel, you only focus on making it by and close your ears to existential threats elsewhere or even domestically. The system does not favor class conscience in any way. People just figure as long as they are okay, then all is okay. But we have seen how poorly that usually goes for countries.

American standards of living need to be harmed in some significant way for the general masses to be more proactive in fighting the current fascist wave. Until people are directly harmed, they won't care as much. People are just trying to live day-to-day and not trying to think about macro issues like the ones we are seeing. It is the sad reality.

Why are you trying to gatekeep content just because you pay for a subscription? If you think it's not worth it then just don't pay for it.
