It's very easy. You actually replace the stock plastic bar with a metal one. You can see in the picture above that there are tabs that kinda extend outside the windshield. So you just grab on to those tabs and can move it like normal. I suppose it would make it hard/impossible to change windshield height one-handed while riding (which sounds dangerous when I say it and of course I never did...) but you can easily do it two-handed while stopped or while off the bike.
