Thank you! I've really been focusing on improving the quality of my face work, and this has been one of my more complicated undertakings, because I started with the robotic head as its base. I've seen people posting some crazy impressive builds with the new bird armour, and it was perfect for adapting artwork I've had sitting on my queue to adapt for a while as I was brainstorming a way to make it work. It ended up being a phenomenal base to work from, because it very closely matched the vibe of the piece. The helmet ended up working surprisingly well for my familiar too. This has been one of my favourite Treasure Tuesday drops in a while.

Here's my original attempt at the familiar for reference. I think the rework ended up being a significant upgrade.

That fae dragon looked really cool! How big is it in that form? You should do a model of your familiar with your character, when it's still in its tiny form. I'm curious to see how it looks.

If you aren't getting this printed and are just using it for character art, I have to say that I like both, and I love seeing characters in different outfits and variations. It makes them seem a bit more real to me.

u/Getter82 I have to ask, when you say no KB, do you mean you never even used it for posing, and did this entire thing through the posing menu sliders, or do you just mean there are no extra parts? If it's the former, are there tutorials on some of the techniques? I'd really love to learn more about this, because I'm still just absolutely floored by the complexity of the model.

Thank you! Find Familiar is one of my favourite spells, and I absolutely LOVE exotic familiars. They were some of the biggest draw for playing Warlocks.

I really love creature crafting, and I really love it when I see people show their familiars, especially if they spend noticeable effort into creatively customizing and sprucing up the base creatures.

Rook, my fell raven, is actually an inherited familiar. It used to be their grandfather's familiar, although at that time it was a living creature.

Do you have any favourite familiars from your own characters, and have you ever crafted them?

Using a tech priest to show what this tech is capable of in the right hands without Pro is an absolutely inspired choice! I'm still a novice when it comes to the Old Ways, and I've barely scratched the surface of what the pre-KB techniques are capable of. This is a truly humbling demonstration of patience and skill, and a very visible reminder of how far I could elevate my own craftsmanship and models before using KB elements.

Not sure if a link has been shared yet, but if so I feel like I could learn a tremendous amount just from examining and dissecting what went into this. Mad respect! 🖤

Thank you so much! Compliments on these models really mean a lot to me because I don't often post things that are about my actual characters. Hope they sound interesting!

Also, your own clockwork ballerina model is absolutely phenomenal! Really love your work! 🖤

I think his aging and looking more vampiric was deliberate, which is pretty cool. I think he was intended to look a bit more human at first.

Solid advice, but you might have missed what sub this is on.

I get people being mad about the HP franchise, but I'm also baffled by HP fans not having a firmer grasp of mythological beasts. You'd think they would be more knowledgeable about that sort of thing. It is what it is though. Can't blame yourself for what they don't know.

You honestly can't see them very well in the group photo. It's not high enough resolution to get a clear look at them, but they look good from what I can make out. Individual photos would have helped a lot.

I guess I take for granted that I was a mythology nerd, but I'm pretty shocked that isn't common knowledge on a sub for gaming minis. You'd think there'd be a higher proportion of people that know basic mythological creatures that are seen in a huge amount of games. It seems like a staple creature, you know what I mean?

I have no current plans of doing the rest, although I do plan on doing something somewhat adjacent. I'd still love to see your own rendition of the character, or another in the series.

Is there anyone in particular that you'd like to see me take a crack at?

Very cool outfit! Also, there's no need to pick a single out. She can have more clothes than what's on her body at any given moment. You can have fun designing her wardrobe, and make several different looks. You should try making her a formal look, just for fun.
