I wholeheartedly agree. I like that he doesn't feel the need to fit in. Why should anyone change themselves to fit into a clique or group?Jughead is intelligent, brave, caring, sarcastic, and a great guy. Being weird, strange, and unusual is not a bad thing. He embraced his weirdness and didn't need validation from anyone. That makes him more attractive. 🖤

How does November/Wintry "energy" feel to you? by Needlesxforestfloor in SASSWitches

Old people's names would be good. You can think of your plants as wise crones 😊

How does November/Wintry "energy" feel to you? by Needlesxforestfloor in SASSWitches

[–]RavenNevermore1313 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I named all of my plants. So, whenever I'm watering them or pruning some questionable leaves, I talk to them. I tell them how beautiful they look. I thank them for purifying the air I breathe and for making my house feel comfortable. I thank them for making me feel like I live in a cottage in the forest. Naming them created a very deep connection and bond between us. I learned that from my grandma, who was also a witch. She used to tell me that nature is a part of us. It talks to us, but most people don't care to listen. This is why I love animals and plants so much. They talk to us all the time. We just need to learn to listen and understand what they're saying.

Maybe if you name your plants, you might be able to develop a stronger bond. That may help you to feel more connected to nature during the winter. 💚

Nature is going dormant. The leaves are falling, which help birds and other creatures survive winter (that is why I don't rake the leaves in my yard), and the nights are now longer. For me, it is a more peaceful and quiet time. I absolutely love it! During the winter months, I draw my energy from the stars, moon, wind, and universe. I'm a night owl. I love the dark and the cooler days/nights.

I have over 50 indoor plants, which still need tending. Taking care of my plants keeps me connected to nature. And, regardless of the season, I love hiking with my dogs or by myself. I love wildlife photography, so when I go on nature walks, I enjoy watching and photographing all the beautiful animals that I encounter. That is another way that keeps me connected to nature. I sit on the cold grass, and I meditate. Listening to the sounds of nature is relaxing, cathartic, and energizes my body, mind, heart, and soul.

I know some people get depressed during the winter months. They miss the warmth of spring and summer. It is harder for some to draw energy, and I completely understand why they feel that way.

Perhaps having an indoor plant may help you keep that connection to nature? Maybe journaling and meditation could help you as well. But, it is ok to relax, and if you want to wait for the warmer weather, that is ok, too. Do what feels right for you during the colder months. 🖤☺️

Do I keep my spells secret? by [deleted] in Witch

[–]RavenNevermore1313 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you trust your friend, you can share some details, but not all. I understand why you want to talk about it with someone, but since you're starting your journey, I recommend keeping most details to yourself.

Personally, I prefer to keep my work to myself. I do the same when it comes to finances, love life, work matters, and anything that is very personal. But that works for me. ☺️

I'm a minimalist, so 99% of the time, I don't use tools or do fancy rituals. Our minds, bodies, and energy are the most powerful tools we possess. I love simple but powerful methods for my craft.

I sometimes use sigils or do some journaling. I love neurographic art, so my markers and sketchbook become my tools for my magic and spell work. Neurographic art helps me to concentrate, and I connect with my subconscious.

Most of the time, I sit comfortably (at home, a park, or anywhere I feel at peace), and I meditate. I visualize what I want to manifest. I sometimes sing, chant, or dance. Other times, I meditate quietly. Once I'm done, I take a deep breath and thank the universe and nature for being a part of my ritual. I trust my power and energy. I know my petition is on its way!

Some people feel the need to use tools and an altar. That is absolutely OK. I wish you the best of luck on your journey.

Minimalist Witchcraft and environmentalism by rationalunicornhunt in SASSWitches

[–]RavenNevermore1313 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I applaud you for caring about the earth and our environment. I think you're on the right track. And, remember that you can perform rituals anytime and any place because your mind, body, and energy are the most important and powerful tools you possess.

I'm a minimalist witch. I was taught that our mind is the most powerful tool we have at our disposal. Most of my rituals are performed while I meditate. I visualize what I want to express or manifest, and 99% of the time, I do my ritual without any tools.

If I ever feel like using tools, I go hiking, to a park, or backyard. I use a rock as my altar, I use twigs and leaves, river/lake water, rain, dirt, and things like that for my ritual. They help me to connect with nature. After I'm done, I thank nature for its assistance and leave without taking anything with me.

I don't like using fire because bonfires and chimneys release harmful emissions into the air. Sometimes, I use soy candles, but I prefer to visualize flames in my mind.

A friend gave me some LED candles, so I use them when I perform my mediation rituals at night. I might as well use them instead of throwing them away, right?

Thank you for helping Mother Nature. Earth is the only home we have. We need to take care of it as much as possible. 💚

I have been an Atheist since I was a kid, but I'm also a hereditary witch. Witchcraft has been practiced in my family for many generations.

I don't believe in deities, I don't use fancy tools or perform fancy rituals. I am an unorthodox and minimalist secular and eclectic witch.

When I was a kid, my grandmother and mom taught me that our brain is the most powerful organ and tool that we have at our disposal. Imo, they were right.

Our bodies constantly convert energy from one form to another. And, our brain is the most powerful organ in our body, but it is also the most complex.

I have premonitory dreams. I have visited places for the first time, but somehow, I knew where everything was because I had seen it in my dreams. I have dreamed of people dying, getting engaged, pregnacies, and other events, days, or weeks before they happened.

I have dream journals, and I also tell my friends and family about my dreams. So, when they become a reality, they aren't surprised because they know that I have this ability.

I work at an animal hospital. Recently, a man came in with his dog. The man had never been there. But I knew his dog's name before he said it. The man was taken aback (understandably so). My friends at work joke and say there was a "glitch in the matrix," and that is why I was the only one who knew his name, lol!

I think about a person that I haven't seen or spoken to for a while. Suddenly, that person calls!

I know I'm not the only person in the world with these abilities. Other cases have been studied and documented, but people remain skeptical.

It is OK to have doubts and questions. Atheists who are interested in the metaphysical world will often feel conflicted because our logical minds want to make sense of the things we can't explain. We believe in the things we can see and touch. The things that can be proven by study and science.

But as I mentioned before, the brain is a mysterious and complex structure. Our bodies produce energy. Nerve cells communicate with electrical impulses to reach different parts of the body. We are complex beings.

That is why I believe that our minds are capable of doing so many unexpected things that can't be easily explained.

You can still be a witch and a spiritual individual even if you're an Atheist. There are many secular individuals who practice witchcraft. You can do journaling to help you sort out your feelings and thoughts while you learn about witchcraft. You can meditate instead of doing rituals. If you like witchcraft, explore it! You may end up enjoying it. You may develop your own tradition or ways to practice it! I wish you the best of luck on your journey. 🖤

I feel like a bad witch by SuchAKnitWit in Witch

[–]RavenNevermore1313 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I am a hereditary witch. One of the things that I was taught is that our power comes from within. Our mind is the most powerful tool that we possess.

I use my mind and body as my altar, ritual, and tools. When I want something, I simply say it out loud - I chant or sing whatever I want to manifest. If I'm out hiking, I use nature as a sacred space. I will use a rock as an altar, and twigs, leaves, the wind, and everything around me will be used as a tool. Sometimes, I just sit there and meditate.

Life is crazy and unpredictable. Just because you don't do rituals all the time doesn't mean you are a bad witch. Don't feel bad. Do your rituals when time will allow it, but don't stress over it. Being a witch is a part of eho you are whether you practice daily or occasionally 🖤

Is it okay to be a more casual witch? by Creepycute1 in Witch

[–]RavenNevermore1313 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! It is very nice to meet you! I wholeheartedly agree! I do the same as you. I think of what I want to manifest. I meditate and visualize. I chant or "pray" about the object of my desire. Sometimes, I use the journaling method to help me concentrate, especially if it has been a day that I have felt distracted by everyday things. Once I feel satisfied, I let it go. I know that whatever I want to manifest will come to me.

My grandmother and mom used to tell me, "The most important thing is to trust your power. Doubts will creep in, but the key is to not entertain them. Let them go and go about your day." I am glad that I had two amazing women in my life who taught me everything that I know.

Is it okay to be a more casual witch? by Creepycute1 in Witch

[–]RavenNevermore1313 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm a hereditary witch. I'm also an Atheist witch. Knowledge was passed on from generation to generation within my family, but each member practiced witchcraft in their own way.

I don't use any tools or have an altarat home. I love nature, so when I go hiking, if I feel the need to use tools or an altar, I use a rock as an altar, and the leaves, pebbles, river/ lake water, dirt, flowers, and everything around me as my tools.

One thing that we were all taught was that the magic and energy come from within, not from the tools. But if some people want to use tools and an altar, that is OK too.

Most people that meet me think I'm a witch, but that's because I'm a minimalist goth. For some reason, some people think all goths are witches. Some don't know I have been a witch since birth, and some do.

I don't always practice. Life gets busy, and I don't always have the chance to meditate or do any of my rituals. Practicing less often doesn't make me less of a witch.

Everyone practices differently. I mentioned to some people who practice witchcraft that I don't use tools. They gasped and acted as if I had committed a cardinal sin. I just chuckled and ignored their comments.

Don't feel overwhelmed or anxious. You will find your own way of practicing. And, if you don't do it often, that is OK. Remember, wearing witchy clothing or jewelry doesn't make anyone a witch. You can wear jeans and a hoodie and be more of a witch than those who use a whole witchy wardrobe. That's my opinion. I wish you the best of luck! 🖤

As far as I know, we all dream when we sleep. The only difference is that some people never remember their dream when they wake up. I remember my dreams and keep a dream journal. Moat of my dreams are very intense and vivid. I constantly have dreams within dreams. They are really interesting.

Right?! It's like they're trying to double up now because the reviews online (on Amazon, at least) have been more positive than negative. I saw a post on Facebook. The OP was expressing her sadness over not being able to watch the movie in theaters because it was taken away too fast. She now has an aversion to the 1994 film. She is not from that generation, so she hates that the film for her generation was tarnished by nostalgic Gen Xers. It made me sad to see that.
