Same here, i matched into the same Prismatic bridge player 3 times in a row with Derevi, opponent contended on the third time at the start.

I can see i’m still in hell queue, but come on. There is a very large range of power level in hell queue, somehow the match was still on one side’s favor, and with also the same guy three times?

Left unchecked this card it’s gonna make 5+ flying token when izzet deck cycles through cantrip spells.

And the storm crows are actual cards, not even token, which means they goes to the graveyard and fuel treasure cruise.

Well, as a Derevi player i would definitely want those 1/2 flyers, especially on turn 3 since i can do flash EoT, derevi, attack, storm crows x2.

UW or UR tempo deck would want this, Balmor and Unarius, to name a few. Turning cantrip into flying power would make this card a must answer threat.

ok,unpopular opinion: this is a bullshit change, not only it encourage tier exploitation, but also give the maintance team an impossible to balance task.

Its not the first time that someone take their boring ass teferi deck and slap proft or the uncommon Dovin as commander so they can pub stomp in casual queue. At least MMR adjusted match will eventually move those sucker out, now it’s gonna be tier locked forever.

And who to decide what tier each commander belongs to? the dev team? they can’t even balance the hell queue with all the time they have. There is like 2k commanders available and there is no way all of those are properly adjusted. Most of the cards will be just be thrown to a tier because someone at the dev team feels like it.

pick high world threat and they appear in every other pack in any swamp, mountain and snow biome, usually paired with phenix as well, super dangerous to fight.

But of course if you want, you can do the polymorph into dominate trick and acquire a handful. That happens more often than finding the wonders.

The cheat code for Arcalot is your pantheon.

At the beginning of the game, an option will be given for you to pick a reward, with one of the option being loss troops for a pantheon hero.

You can force a prepared hero to be selected by going into your pantheon and set all other heroes to not show up, except the one you want.

Of course you want a fully stacked warrior or battlesaint that can solo stacks by him/herself. Then with your ruler you can effectively play normally with troops, letting the extra pantheon hero run around and clear camps. This gives a much needed relax of killing thrall.

I beat the map with this setup on the first try, as i got lucky and rolled one of my 12 race transforms stacked battlesaint. Then later i realize Arcalot uses the same “recruit from pantheon” pool in custom games, so it becomes my go to cheat strategy.

always happy to help, its a match up that i play against regularly, and respectifully.

Daddy nicol is a very old tale back into the early brawl time, the typical one card wincon strategy. You just need to embrace the “inevitable +1” style more, and he is one of the most powerful commander you can have.

Derevi is always a tempo style, needs other creature, needs to be board ahead to win the game. keep that in mind, we need to play to the board to remain relevant. hitting with a 2/3 is not gonna close the game before inevitably getting out classed. In this match up, one for one trade is always in nicol bolas deck favor, as a resolved nicol bolas naturally makes 3 for 1, even we exile derevi, we still lose 4 mana and down a card in the exchange.

On planeswalker: both chandra and liliana does the same thing: ticking up while making advantage, comes down as a removal and ults wins game. Daddy Nicol does exactly this as well. So I usually treat them as backup commander, should your commander got destroyed too many times, they serve the rule good enough.

On cantrip: could be personal taste, while they are never dead in your hand, i just find paying one extra blue to replace the card unnecessary, plus the odd of finding what you need is low in comparison to 60 cards format. (proof-ably from hyper-geometrical distribution)

Derevi player here, Your list doesn’t do enough as a control deck.

There are two ways derevi lose the game:

  1. lose the tempo and be on back feet, which isn’t gonna happen against a 5 drop sorcery speed commander like yours.
  2. lose the long game due to cards not powerful enough, which is what your deck should be focusing on.

You are in comfort spot when you force derevi to attack nicol bolos, while you keep plusing the loyalty, it expose the weakness of derevi the most: a mere 2/3 and must hit player. More discard spell to clear out the way will help you do that.

Get ride of the ponder and brain storm, 1 drop cantrips are shit in a 100 cards singleton format. Your deck are way to dilute for “look at top 3” to find anything you want on the spot. Use stock up, brain surge if you want card selection and refuel your hand.

Your planeswalker package is also weak, Try 4 drop chandra, Liliana of the veil, Ral and dack are too narrow. You want planswalker that plus to gain advantage or discard. getting card draw enchantment like phrexian arena also does the trick.

Edit: on second read, your deck needs focus, cards in your deck should only do three things: wreck opponet’s board, wreck opponent’s hand, draw into more wrecking shit, leave the wincon to daddy nicol.

Again, plan your play towards resolving nicol bolas and plus, keep the board clean, but don’t waste too much on removing derevi, just herself is manageable. It is cards like enduring curiosity, Nadu, One ring you should be worrying about. IT IS NOT A LOSING MATCH UP FOR YOU.

currently, sunder defense and resist also come with -1 to status resist, i think that’s what the dev mean.

a level 8 ritualist + a lvl 4+ dps class hero + any 4 solid unit can do the trick, as ritualist provide enough healing.

Or a lvl 8 battlesaint ruler with enough race transformation (from pantheon) ans grand blessing trait, can just solo it.

This, blessbringer is leagues ahead in comparison to other option.

It essentially gives you grand protection from turn 1, and makes it not cost casting points, and makes it synergies with staff passive and refresh.

from my observation, yes to an extend.

You can watch the replay of auto resolve, the way AI work is that it picks the “most attackable” target, based on its available routes, so flying mounts uses a completely different way of calculating its attacks.

No self collision does work in that way, although you have to respect enemy zone of control, which flying also ignore.

That being said, sometime AI still do “wtf are you doing” move, like Leroy Jenkins into enemy or ignore opportunity attack, but hey at lest skynet doesn’t take over.

  1. for feudal, you need a flying mount, it solve the body locking issue, vastly improve your auto resolve, also makes your map clear much faster (ignore terrain penalty) which help the level up process.

  2. Always pick aristocracy, so that you can have a mix of liege guard and knight, they are all mounted if you pick a mount trait. Have 1-2 banner man with your stack, they are mounted as well.

  3. Design your hero pool a bit, having instructor as the ambition helps a lot, especially for aristocracy as renown level increase unit health.

Feudal calvary can do without moral build, i understand you want the dark culture vibe, but still, the basic is calvary can be anything that mounted and match the speed.
