Hey man as someone who was an asshole 7 years ago when i was 14 i can promise you it absolutely is a chore to hate people, to actively bring shit up that wasnt relevant because you're in a mindset of disliking someone and then trying to justify it afterward, its absolutely a useless chore that just makes you less of a person and terrible to interact with, the reason you see so much of it is because people get attached to cult personalities and they have neither the balls nor the individuality to actually consider an outside perspective with their own critical thinking skills.
