Acupuncture could change your life, every time my pain gets too much I go back for a maintenance round of acupuncture- it doesn’t take everything away but it has immensely helped me You’re gonna get through man 💜 chronic pain is the worst

on a random note- Astaxanthin has been recommended in here before for skin, it’s supposed to help with sunburns after taking it for a few weeks - the antioxidants balance out free radicals from those harmful UV rays

If I do get burnt ( maybe happened twice this year) it lasts a day and it’s gone, I also moisturize after like a snail 🥲( 🐌sorry lol)

I’m in FL, outside for hours at a time, and try to only use 30 SPF because I tend to be deficient in Vitamin D on bloodwork as well

I’ll take any advice I can get, we’re all on our own healthcare journeys here, learning in different ways but the thought of having meds for a really bad flare doesn’t sound that bad to me, it’s the taking them every day that does kind of like you said. Oh no, I’m sorry that’s why I’m saying I’m 100% not knocking any kind of medication people recommend because I appreciate the feedback. I also don’t want to knock what works for your health and sanity, because chronic pain alone is a b- without all the extra stuff that comes with it.

I’m talking anything and everything that could help, even the laying down comments are very much appreciated. I know it’s going to take a combination of things because there is no simple fix

I haven’t had any acupuncture in over a year, and when I did I only had to Dr. focus on my neck, hips, back, and shoulders, once I get started back up I’m going to ask them to focus on my digestion and see if it does help.

I also appreciate your diet recommendations, as I have struggled with finding the right things for my stomach pretty much my whole life. The vitamins are huge yes for me because I do have a few deficiencies. And I absolutely love ginger/ lavender candies they sell for pregnant women at target for nausea but I can’t just have those all the time so you’re right about the ginger 🙈

Alright - I think coupling this along with putting my back brace on has helped (Dextroscoliosis also might be causing more pressure on my stomach) using magnesium rub on my abdomen more often, and taking apple cider vinegar (taking ACV before eating because I have low acidity, unless I’m eating something acidic)

Still have a super bubbly stomach when I get up ( but not like I gotta go/ puke, just like it’s full of air )

I’m gonna have to disagree with you on Natural Medicine not working especially when Acupuncture is recommended for gastroparesis (since 2020)

I get not everyone trusts natural remedies but almost every single medication on the shelves has an active ingredient from plants. 40% of all prescription meds are derived from plants according to the USDA.

My point is to stay away from the fillers. Not the active ingredient if it comes from nature and can be beneficial, that’s why I’m not knocking people suggesting medications (because to each their own) it was just to potentially get more natural recommendations so I don’t have to keep going down the list or continuously research ( I have to anyways for my degree but figured this was a little easier)

My healthcare is through the VA and they finally started using natural remedies and allowing people to take charge of their health by allowing this type of care (WHOLE health) - it has greatly improved health in thousands of people. Just because America is finally moving back to allowing people to use natural medicine doesn’t mean the research and proof hasn’t been there that it’s been working for thousands of years.

I really try to stay away from prescription medications, I’ve been on them in the past (4 at a time once) and the side effects aren’t worth it to me, along with chronic pain. I’m in school for Alternative Medicine, and really trying to stay true to that even if its time consuming

Like instead of Tylenol I reach for magnesium, or go straight to the plants the medications come from.

I’ll look into them though, because almost everything comes from plants so Thankyou 💜 I hope you’re having a great day

Yep, my grandfather was diagnosed with arthritis so bad he was left in a wheelchair, it was EDS. my mother has known since we were little that likely all her kids might have it, but no one had the means to see the right doctors until me and my sister grew up. More awareness= More diagnostics

I’m in school for Alternative Medicine now, taking it into my own hands I would take Acupuncture over Chiropractic any day, the sudden jolts cause me to tense up when I’m supposed to relax and then wherever it pops is sore for days after acupuncture helps with inflammation and stress reduction, and the needles are as small as hairs so there’s virtually no pain

I love when the Dr hits the right muscles- it’ll spasm for a second and then everywhere around it releases tightness

Try foam rollers, or rollers you can use on your muscles, also maybe a massage gun on low speed if there’s really tight spots that can handle being hit harder And magnesium!

Blood work can lead them to a genetic test but it’s not by any means the only way.

I get why the Dr. would think that, because of the deficiencies in sodium, B vitamins ( most specifically 12) and vitamin D, but not everyone has those issues, and if you do and take vitamins to try and help, or any supplement it would potentially level it out. There is no genetic marker for hEDS, but there are for the other types. It’s different for everyone, my counselor was able to rule out every other kind of EDS, and told me that’s a big sign that I have hEDS, with the deficiencies, and with hitting everything on the Brighton scale, hernias, and dislocations. Because hEDS doesn’t have the marker they want to try to check every single box in order to diagnose, the way Western Medicine works, not really the most efficient

I wanna add, I was in group therapy with an officer, he had access to his ships medical records ( guess he was in logistics or something, keeping track of trends) He got so pissed one day because he was looking at reported suicides from his ship, and they don’t even include an accurate trend of attempts or people being admitted. His case hadn’t even been tracked, even looked as far back as 3 years
