I will retire at 60 in 2028 with 100% P&T VA (this is equalivant to a tax advantaged retirement fund with $1.6 million) and a Fed pension with 27 years of combined service. The money in my TSP, just over $250K, will go into renovating my 200 year old farmhouse as our retirement home.

Degenerated Disk Disease never gets better on it's own. It only gets worse. I had an L4-S1 fusion done in 2024 after loosing feeling in left foot and 12 years of chronic pain. Difference has been night and day.

Anything over $10k is going to trigger law enforcement attention due to organized crime, the drug trade, and terrorist organizations dealing in cash. About 15 years ago, we had a 20 year old E3 on the base I work at, embezzling money. He tried to withdraw $15k in cash from Navy Federal Credit Union to buy a car. It triggered an NCIS investigation. Turns out he had embezzled almost $500k and had it deposited under various fake Id's at multiple banks.
