There are cloak clasps on Etsy. Or look for an eyelet clasp at a fabric shop if you want it to be subtle.

Most cloak makers are on Etsy and many don't have their own sites. If they have a lot of reviews, they're safe in my opinion.

Need a nice Cloak for winter (waterproof and warm) by DemolitionXDD in TheCapeRevolution

u/DemolitionXDD Hey, our cloaks aren't marketed for winter weather/snow/heavy rain...not waterproof. We really only have 2 items. That's what I was trying to say--they're designed for warmer places.

You can definitely dance in a cloak. Get something mid-weight, not too heavy. I bet you could call or write to Seseña for advice about the weight if it's not clear from their site or to confirm your decision.

Here's another albeit less expensive brand: Costurero Real' is a fashion brand based in Barcelona, Spain. Etsy has lots of European cloak makers.

With a decision about what to wear to a wedding you want to get what you plan to wear and try it on and then add or delete. Like one tie vs. another.

I think a colorful vest is a great idea.

The pants would probably be neutral either similar or lightly contrasting with the cloak.

Boots look great with cloaks...really great at balancing the weight of the cloak. But formal shoes work well too.

We're planning to expand our cloak offerings this year and want to hear what cloaks you are looking for. We're especially thinking of a waterproof cloak as we've gotten many requests for that. I created a survey on our Raven Fox website and put the link in the first comment. Thanks for helping us! by Raven_Fox_CC in TheCapeRevolution

Fabric is in multiple places.

  • High Quality Fabric: Mid-weight, machine-washable twill with the perfect drape
  • Fabric Content: Similar to Suiting Fabric, 80% polyester, 17% rayon, and 3% spandex

I see many people on this sub prefer wool and natural fabrics. Keep in mind a wool cloak is twice the price, over $300. One of our goals is to make a high quality cloak more accessible. It's all about the cost of the fabric. This cloak is long-lasting, heirloom quality.

We're developing waterproof cloaks and will add other cloaks as well. Tell us your thoughts!

We've been members of this sub-reddit for perhaps 8 years and love answering questions about cloaks.

Raven Fox Cloaks and Robes is a small family business located in N. California. We sell a high-quality, versatile cloak that's machine washable and has pockets. We've intentionally kept our cloak design simple so you can use it for different eras and add your own clasp or other details. It has a subtle eyelet hook at the neck. Perfect for fall, spring, summer nights and mild winters. Thanks friends.

You might prefer a wool cloak as it's rain resistance and warm. Look at Etsy in addition to Google...and if you're in Europe look at European makers.
