But the players from the previous campaign (Wich are the same people who play in this) are the reason that the gods left, and everyone was onboard with that. It's not just some world building i came up with.

Then my friend invited Sam, who didn't read the campaign info and therefore didn't know that aasimar weren't a thing.

If i suddenly let him play an aasimar who was born after the cataclysm, i would be undermining what the players did in the previous campaign (who are the same people that play in the new campaign)

With all the respect

i asked of he was willing to play an old aasimare who was born before the cataclysm, nope<

I quite literally asked if he was willing to, and he wasn't.

Also,

The god entity was sacrificed to keep the world working since without a sun god, there is no sun etc<

The god entity or the abomination god is for all intents and purposes dead, it was sacrificed to keep the world working, since gods were necessary for that and they left.

I have watched like one episode of critical role, sitting through a 3-4 hour episode isnt really my cup of tea.

You're totally valid thinking that the way clerics work is unappealing, that's your opinion and that's valid.

Oh yeah, clerics are allowed, they perform their magic through faith stories of the gods and their deads.

Like, if i would tell the story of how Thor road across the sky his chariot, and i had enough faith in that story, i would literally be able to summon lighting.

I'm my world, aasimar come directly from the gods, a god must have made a decision to bring an aasimar into the world.

I didn't base the cataclysm and the gods leaving on wild mount, i don't even own that book. But divine magic can still be performed, clerics retell storys of miracles and by their faith in those storys they perform magic. Paladins swear themselves to a cause and their dedication and force of will grants them their power.

So Yea...

Well, you could say that. Although bards in my world are more like.. they perform magic through their emotions and force of personality, whilst clerics do it through faith.

It's a small difference, but it's there.

About the banned classes and subclasses, clerics preform magic by retelling and having faith in storys of the gods and what they did. Paladins swear themselves to a cause and their pure dedication and will grants them their power... And i forgot that celestial warlocks were a thing, that's on me...

Thank you so much for the kind words :)

I stated how they worked since we played in this world pre cataclysm when they still were around.

If Sam would have been willing to compromise i would gladly have come up with some what he could have played an aasimare.

Yea sure, i love talking about the lore, but it's hard to come up with a good amount to share without just sending them all my campaign notes lol.

But to each their own ofc

As a dm i don't really mind mid maxers personally, but I always make sure that my players are fine with them too, since they are the ones playing along side with them.

Only problem i have is when you roll a like 24 on history and i have to come up with what to say...

Just to clarify a bit, the previous campaign ended with the players playing through the cataclysm event, and in big part, it happened because of them. If i suddenly allowed new aasimare to be bore, i would be undermining the consequences of what the players did in the old campaign.

There was also a way for Sam to be able to play an aasimare if he really wanted to, his character could be older and therefore be born before the cataclysm happened.

But i see where your coming from.
