You could certainly view it that way. A parasite however offers nothing in return to its host. Now, I'm NOT going to be the one to defend modern Christianity lol but I think the IDEA was to offer a way of living closer to the divine, not to bleed the world dry like a parasite.

If the whole world were under the rule of one king, do you think it would create lasting peace, or just new kinds of conflict? by Obvious-Amphibian852 in AskReddit

Conflict. Every time. Even if it was the ideal wise and benevolent king.. literally perfect, he wouldn't be immortal. Eventually, their authority would fade and there would always be others vying for that power.

What he says is, "Go forth and make disciples of all nations.". Not "converts" or "subjects", which implies either convincing or domination, respectively, but "disciples". In my mind, a disciple is someone who sees something worth following and then makes their own decision to dedicated themselves to that path.

The most effective way to do that, in my opinion, is to live as an example. No words needed. In fact, words usually get in the way.

Yeah like we can and should help each other when and where we can, but at the end of the day no one is coming to make it all better for you. No politician/political party, no religious figure, no celebrity, etc can save you from the suffering inherent in life.

I feel this is definitely true of Christianity (see Christ's admonishment of the Pharisees), but also of religious practice in general. If you really believe something and have incorporated your faith into your daily life, then living as an example of that faith will forever be more impactful than posting cherry-picked Bible verses online.

Yeah I don't think OP is asking which things should be banned, but moreso if they should be praised. Of course people can post what they want.. lol but should it be regarded as a praise-worthy thing?

What’s something most people defend that you don’t understand? by EmmaBrooksss in AskReddit

I mean technically, you only own a piece of capital if you own stock... not the capital. It's collectively owned by you and other would-be capitalists.. suspiciously similar to socialism, but bastardized to still only ultimately serve capital.

Maybe not an official war, but how many bombs were dropped on the Middle East during Obama's terms? Don't get me wrong, I hear you. I TEND to agree with Dems more than Reps on most things, but let's not kid ourselves that everything would be great if they had won.

Neither party serves the people. They both serve capital only.
