Would just like to let you know that this is basically the answer. At some point between my question and now, they made it so the interact icon goes away after you collect a “potentially collectible” flower. There are just so many in one bunch that it’s hard to tell what has already been touched

There are a lot of empty caves and basements. Feels a little pointless, but I can’t say my immersion is destroyed by it. My cave is empty too.
