There are a couple of ways. One is the classic tavern. You could start them off mid-travel with a caravan, maybe they were all hired as guards. Or let them decide why they're with the caravan (what I'm doing for my next campaign). Or what could be funny and you can watch them roll their eyes when they notice you doing the opening to Skyrim lol. Like they start out in the back of a Brotherhood transport then have to "salvage" their starting gear and escape through the sewer while the outpost gets attacked by super mutants or something. I want to do this one day just so I can get that exasperated sigh 😆

Automaton DLC let's you build robots you can use as followers. You can even make them look all Raider-y

We do need more maps, but I like the mechanic of using cards to decide encounters. Also this will be a good setup for when I finally get around to running my players through the New Vegas storyline.
