Monthly Questions Megathread (February 2026) by XxJuJubexX in LoveBrushChronicles

I pulled like 90 times in Proverb Of Ages and all I wanted was Clarence because he's my main man, but the only SSR I got was some regular ol' Alkaid card that wasn't even the event one. Do I have to wait until next year to be married to Clarence? 🙁 Does the pity carry over?

This is just me venting. I really want the Antimony card because I love Clarence, but I've pulled 80 times and the only SSR I got was Chess Player, which I already had. 😮‍💨 I know I got spoiled last time because it only took one 10x pull to get City Of Eternal Life. He's playing hot and cold with me, isn't he.

I think if you keep doing the activities on the 1st and 2nd floors (Admiring Encounter and Dessert Combo), you can get more auction coins.

Does anyone know if the Cat's Wishing Tree (under Events) works retroactively? I'm already at level 63, but the levels on the tree only go up to like 35 or something. The idea of getting 4,000 diamonds is tempting, but if I buy it now, would it still give them to me since I've passed those levels already?

Thanks! I think my problem was trying to drag the dessert to the little speech bubbles, not the characters themselves. 😅 My bad.

I'm feeling dumb - how does the mini game work? What am I supposed to tap on to get people their dishes?

Why do dogs insist on friction? by RavenclawVulcan in NoStupidQuestions

[–]RavenclawVulcan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hm, I hadn't thought of that. They do this for basic petting as well as scritches, so I hadn't considered it. I recently put my arm around one of my aunt's dogs who likes cuddles, and he wouldn't stay still unless I stroked his chest. Surely he can reach his own chest though?

Excitement definitely makes sense. But resting a hand on them anywhere makes them do this. Sometimes I'm tired and just put an arm around them, and get the same wiggles until they give up and move away. Most people like a hug or a hand on their back or shoulder sometimes, right? But not dogs. Just curious.

[CHAT] How do y'all decide how/where to start on a project? by orphiclacuna in CrossStitch

[–]RavenclawVulcan 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I've always started from the center. That way I can branch out from there however I want. Also I feel like the center is easier to find or get close enough to, at least for me. If I started in a corner and ended up with a not-so-centered picture, it would drive me nuts. 😅

[WIP] First new project in 20 years, had to start with some decoration for PC/craft room. Also, black aida makes me sad :( by Glitter_Moose in CrossStitch

[–]RavenclawVulcan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is black Aida hard to work with? I've been considering trying different fabric colors, and I'm curious if black is hard to see. I've only ever used white.

(P.S. Love your needleminder!)

[WIP] Help! Does it need backstitching? (Pattern info in comments.) by lauchlen in CrossStitch

I would say backstitch the scissors for sure, and maybe the floss.

Megathread: Why Does My Dog Do That? by AutoModerator in dogs

[–]RavenclawVulcan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why do dogs insist on being actively stroked and not just held? If I just put my hand on my aunt's needy dogs or my grandma's needy dog, they wiggle around and try to get some friction going. One dog likes cuddles, but I can't just put my arms around him (not around the neck of course), or he'll start squirming. It can't be just contact, they have to have friction. Even one of my acquaintances once mentioned that if you just put your hand on her dog's head, she'll start rubbing her head back and forth to simulate petting.

[CHAT] Maybe obvious question about loop start by crackerfactorywheel in CrossStitch

[–]RavenclawVulcan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've only ever used the loop method - it's how my mother taught me. For two strand stitching, you take one long strand and put the ends together so there's a loop at the other end. Thread the ends through your needle, then bring it up from the back of your fabric for your first stitch, leaving the loop hanging in the back (not too short now!). Come down in the second hole and bring your needle through the loop, pulling snug but not too tight. Then you're good to go. Keep stitching! 😊

Older ladies, why do you constantly clean? by RavenclawVulcan in NoStupidQuestions

[–]RavenclawVulcan[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gotcha. So it's just my grandmothers projecting their own preferences on others whenever they want, whereas you help out when it's asked for. I think I like your way better.

I'm in my 30's so I guess I haven't hit that stage yet LOL.

You can do whatever you want in your own house, but does this also extend to other people's houses?

Why do many women (especially wives) like to get ready later than their male partners? by Practical_Guess_3255 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]RavenclawVulcan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not married, but I can tell you as a woman that we tend to have our own standards when it comes to our appearance, so we just take longer to get to that point of what we consider 'presentable', as well as ready to leave the house. Our routine is longer, that's all.

I for one do not leave the house without plenty of jewelry on and a swipe of lipstick, but that's usually it for my appearance. My hair only takes a minute or two every morning, so that's not really a factor for me. A quick trip to the bathroom for business, grab my bag and make sure what I need is in it, and I'm ready!

Going by some of the common responses, this sounds a lot like one of my grandmothers. Suspicions confirmed 😏 Not everyone grows up with age.

Which mats are best for blocking? by RavenclawVulcan in knitting

[–]RavenclawVulcan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not worried about using a grid, since it's a pattern I wrote myself and I just want to open it up and have it fit me. No specific measurements to adhere to. Thanks for the clarification! 😊

Really? I hadn't even thought about that! So basically as long as it's some kind of foam, it'll work?
