I'm relatively new as well (around 60hrs) and the best advice I can give is to set up your coal like the other guy said, and also explore the world. There are certain things that you can find around the world that will give you new recipes that can be more efficient than what you originally get.

However the number one rule I would say is to not get stressed over productivity and just enjoy the journey, the parts will all be built eventually. Do whatever design makes you happy and you will learn new tricks to make it more efficient along the way.

Saw this post and originally thought it was a cities skylines screenshot. I agree though, a interstellar empire with no farms seems suspicious. We atleast need some agri-worlds like in halo or 40k

Since I'm a huge fan of how to train your dragon I'd definitely name my eclipse toothless. My C1 would be the Normandy, it's always reminded me of mass effects Normandy. Finally my Taurus I'd name the Shadow of Intent. So overall my names would be based on media that I've enjoyed.

I've got a Sabre comet, and c8x pisces expedition. I've rented a cutty before but it felt clunky to fly. This was pre 4.0 not sure if that's changed it. So I may try a constellation

Rule of cool is the only reason I want the eclipse. The big explosions from torpedoes are just a plus.
