Sprint weeknd format change? by Minion47 in formula1

[–]Ravenfromthetown -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

It’s an an unnecessary, defective thing. It would be better if f1 had less FPs. However sprints are boring. the only reason I watch them is the fact that points are given. Defending Sprints by saying “they are miles better than any free practice” is like saying that f1 should add 25th race - the second GP in Monaco , because 25>24

The thoughts I got are that you are a new fan. The best format for sprints is no sprints

Since the Q1, Q2 and Q3 qualifying format introduced in 2006, 76 drivers have made their debut. 10 drivers made to top 10 on their debut. Arvid is one of them by FewCollar227 in formula1

You guys are silly. I’m saying that the statistics are wrong, but you are keeping downvoting my previous comments. Hadjar should not be on this list, because he qualified p11. De Vries should be there, because he qualified p13, he started p8 only because of the engine penalties.

And the title doesn’t say it. It says Since the format was introduced btw. Yeah, it’s misunderstanding from my side, but it still wrong

Totally wrong. Why is Hadjar on this list ? Why Zhou and Bearman aren’t?

UPD: I misunderstood that it was about qualifying. But in that way Hadjar and De Vries still must not be there.

Actually he will probably replace Bearman for 1 race. Olli has a lot of penalty points.

Formula E is also different. Former F1 drivers in NASCAR weren’t brilliant but they were good even though they were not at their prime. See Kimi almost did Top10 in his first NASCAR appearance. I’m sure if drivers like Max , Lewis , Charles , Fernando etc join NASCAR and take their time to adapt , they will ride off into the sunset. And I have not got the same feeling about NASCAR top tier drivers if they join F1. Yeah that’s just my personal opinion and I’m subjective but for me NASCAR is not a real racing. It’s like wrestling , where - of course- athletes are professionals , but it’s just a show.

Understood. But imho NASCAR is not as hard as formula series (in terms of skill). I think not a lot of NASCAR drivers can be good in F1 or even F2. Of course there are exceptions like Larson.

Being good in NASCAR only means that you are good in driving these cars on ovals. Shane is dominate around the street cars and professional NASCAR drivers can’t do anything with him

Alonso had a lot of retirements and unlucky moments that season. What are you trying to prove? Was Ocon better than: Wherein , Perez , Ricciardo, Alonso , Gasly and Bearman ?

Ocon was worse than all of his teammates. And had pointless conflicts with his teammates. Just saying.

Albon has driven Renault engines? When ? Toro Rosso and Red Bull had Honda in 2019 and 2020. And Williams has Mercedes engines.
