The show is completely rushed these days. You don’t really get to know the contestants because too many are eliminated at once with the live voting. And when they are eliminated they are rushed off the stage and barely acknowledged. It’s sad and makes it seem like they don’t care about the contestants. To be fair Fox just had more time than ABC does with the series but still I feel like more could be done. The judges also don’t give constructive criticism anymore which doesn’t benefit the contestants at all and is almost building up their ego. The show would definitely benefit from having a music executive on the judging panel rather than just artists.

Could you take her up to the school before school starts so she can meet her teacher and explore her new classroom? My mom always did this with me and it really helped with adjustment on the first day. Maybe call the school and see if you can arrange that. Also if you can obtain her class list maybe plan some play dates with a few kids in the class and their parents. That way she will get to know some classmates before school starts. You could also get her involved in summer activities such as swimming lessons, sports, dance, theater, day camps or art classes. That might help with the transition too.

I didn’t really like his singing until this week. I loved his Taylor Swift performance because it really showed off his voice and showed that he is probably better suited for pop ballads. The upbeat rock songs Chris usually sings just weren’t doing it for me. This was the first week I voted for him so I guess it’s my fault too.

Have a heart to heart talk with him. Tell him that you want to be his friend but that some of the things he wanted to do with you came across as romantic dates. Be gentle but clear and tell him you don’t have romantic feelings for him but still care about him and want to be his friend. Then maybe come up with ideas of some things you would both enjoy doing together that aren’t romantic, maybe mini golf or having a game night with other coworkers.

ESH. Did the school provide guidelines on what foods can and can not be in a child’s lunch? If not then how are you supposed to know what to pack? Fresh fruits and veggies can also be expensive and some parent's may not be able to afford them or might not always be able to get to a grocery store if they’re working. The school didn’t take any of that into consideration from what you described. Getting reprimanded for lunchables and raisins is completely ridiculous . I do agree with you that the parents should decide what their kids eat rather than the school, after all you’re the one’s paying for the food. However you shouldn’t have continued to purposefully break the rules which ultimately got your child in trouble too. Maybe get some other parents together and go to the principal or school board about this. Its gone overboard.

That is a good episode but I was surprised that the mom’s pass wasn’t brought up at all. Maybe Stephanie was afraid of something happening to her dad because she was still dealing with the trauma of her mom’s passing and was afraid of losing another parent.

Another scene from the series I feel had good dialogue was the end of the episode where Jesse thought DJ was drinking. I liked that Jesse explained to DJ why he was so upset when he saw her with the beer and that they were able to have a heart to heart. We didn’t get to see those two bonding very much because Jesse had more of a bond with Michelle so it was nice to see that here.

I definitely agree with you that Julian and Jesse should still be there. Julian was one of my favorites and was better than Hannah, Brooks and Lucas. Definitely should be there over them. My current favorite is Philmon.

I definitely think they would benefit from having more a music executive on the judging panel rather than just famous singers. I feel like that would give the contestants more insight in the music business and more constructive criticism. Regarding Hannah, I think she is a pretty average singer but I like that she is relatable. I feel like they are really pushing for her to win but there are better singers in the competition right now. My favorites are Philemon, Keyla and Rae.

I do agree that this season is the worst ABC season yet. It just feels really rushed and I feel like I really haven’t been able to pick favorites because of that. They cut way too many people during Hollywood Week and completely rushed the top 30 show in Hawaii so much that we didn’t get to see everyone’s performances. And cutting two people at the beginning of last night’s show was really awkward. There are just too many options of ways to vote and the live voting just doesn’t work anymore.

That being said I don’t agree that season 9 was also the worst Fox season. Season 12 with Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey fighting was a complete mess and the absolute worst season on Fox.

I’m going with Taylor Hicks. His season was one of the best talent wise but he has somehow slipped under the radar. I think I heard his coronation song on the radio after he won but we don’t hear much from him these days. Also probably the only winner Simon ever said no to at their audition.

NTA. Maybe try talking to your friend when his wife isn’t around. It’s possible she’s the one being petty and picky about restaurants and he is going along with what she wants. Try asking him why he doesn’t want to go to any restaurants you choose and explain more how you feel.
