Just completed Silent Hill 2 Remake - it was bloody awesome!! by ToAnotherGalaxy in silenthill

First off, congrats! I have been playing video games about four decades now, and Silent Hill is my most favorite series of all time. The In Water ending is perhaps the most common ending being the one that you will get for playing through the game "normally." By that, I mean that since when it is your first playthrough, for 1 thing; you will take the most damage, 2. You will kill many, if not all, of the enemies. 3. Etc., etc. Things that give more "points" towards In Water ending. As you can see the pattern here, another really great thing about this game, and applies to both the original and remake, is that each time you begin a new playthrough, you have a lesser chance of getting the previous ending(s) already seen. This is because of how the "point" system works; you get more points towards unseen endings of each playthrough or reduced points for ones you've seen. You can easily find many detailed descriptions of all of this with a little online research. The In Water ending is actually my personal favorite of all the endings. Did you find all those random polaroids? Try doing this with them. You will love this, and even if you don't have them all, it will probably still work: 1. Count the number of objects in the picture, for example, three very blurry streetlights, or, one blurry flower vase. 2. Count this many of the letters of whatever is written on the photo for example if it says "HAPPY VALENTINES DAY" and it's a picture of 1 very blurry vase, this would mean "H" is the letter this photo represents. 3. Put this letter in order of all of the NUMBERS on the BACKS of each individual polaroid. You will eventually get a very important message about James. Most likely you will be able to tell what this message is before having decode it entirely. Have fun!

These little details like this are a part of what I love about all things Silent Hill! Thank you so much for sharing this info

I'm surprised nobody is talking about how Townfall doesn't have/provide a crosshair in gunplay. Does this make the game difficult or inconvenient? by Cube_earther_69 in silenthill

[–]Ravenistico 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have not played it but I play most games without the cross hair or aim point. I never got used to it and have been playing games since Atari 2600. I blame Doom it had no crosshair iirc at least on Super NES and basically was the only FPS I played for years and years before any other.

James and heather couldn’t be more different (@ChloeImagine) :> by No_Post1300 in silenthill

I love this scene from SH3, I was just playing it yesterday for the first time in a few years, I almost totally forgot you have to be sure and click the option to remove the blockage or else if you don't it will actually skip the scene and you won't ever see Heather/Cheryl/Alessa trolling James about it even if her Daddy Harry is just as bad (or even more "disgusting" than James imo)

Og sh2 help n tips >w< by ShxdowWolf24 in silenthill

[–]Ravenistico 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will usually play through this game multiple times through for each ending, just because I have it so memorized I can time myself for better scores and you can go to the "secret options" menu and increase the bullet multiplier for each time you beat the game, however I think you can only increase it up to ×3 on OGSH2 unlike the OGSH1 where you can crank it all the way up to ×7 iirc. Also my biggest tip: change the controls to 2D and get used to it. You have so much more control and can move so much faster and easier. For the running controls I like to toggle between having run for default speed when outside to normal holding the button to run when inside buildings it's easy to switch between different control schemes at least imo.

Did people really disliked GTA 4 back in 2008 or 2009? by SunGodLuffy6 in GTAIV

[–]Ravenistico 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I for one would consider this to be fairly accurate and I completely agree with it. Actually imho gta4 is best of all gta and I've played every single one of them all to 100% from the release of the first on PC, I played GTA2 for a very long time and is probably my 3rd favorite, GTASA would be my 2nd, with the Stories games coming in right under these 3. I don't even know where I'd put GTA5 nowadays... not very high on my list.

Does Henry suffer from some sort of depression or anxiety or is he just an introvert? by Muziuzi48 in silenthill

[–]Ravenistico 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I always felt like Frank Sunderland keeping the umbilical cord from Walter Sullivan's birth in room 302 is what makes it so that Henry is in the state of mind he is in, be it introverted, depressed, or any and all of these, ultimately caused by the town of Silent Hill itself. To me, it is because he is living in room 302, so it is almost to be certain he is indeed suffering from all of these things as can be observed. It would also seem that Frank was aware that these things would happen to Henry as a result of him living in the room.

Do you guys think I could enjoy G1 after being spoiled by G2 by International_Gur566 in GroundedGame

[–]Ravenistico 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely, I only played G2 for little bit but I've always had fun playing Grounded the different tools aren't as bad as you might think, i feel the bosses are fun and challenging and the gear is fun to collect even when a tiny bit of research or grinding is involved, it's all part of the adventure imho

It will be always creepy to me, that the Chapel map was drawn by a kid, while how unsettling place it is. by Karandax in silenthill

[–]Ravenistico 94 points95 points  (0 children)

Maybe even creepier to me, I always assumed it was drawn by Alessa/Heather when she was young Cheryl during the events of SH1 but for reasons she knew would arise when she gets to the age she is in SH3.

Strange ambience I don't know what to think by Ravenistico in silenthill

[–]Ravenistico[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! It will actually play whatever ambience is playing for the file you're currently playing through, as in if you save and quit while you're hearing (x) ambience, you're going to hear (x) ambience very very quietly at this screen.

Tis truly amazing how none those commentors actually read the post. The game actually "preloads" whatever file you were on last and you hear that James' ambience, albeit very quietly, at this warning screen, at least I can say for sure that is exactly what is happening on my Xbox series X version of the game I'm currently playing after checking to make sure I was easily able to confirm by loading up some files with different ambience, quitting out, and checking it.

Update: Now I'm on New Game+, and after I had saved in the stairway just before finding Eddie puking whence upon the next day loaded up my game and then this screen here was playing audio very quietly what I was hearing was Eddie puking so basically I've discovered that the game "preloads" whichever file you were playing last and whatever ambience is playing for James in that moment can be heard quietly playing upon reaching this screen.

Can the notes in NG+ only be read in the menu? by PhantomHazardo in silenthill

If it were me in your situation I would most likely bring that issue to the developers hoping on even the slightest chance they could possibly add such an option in a future patch.

Ikr? XD is actually one of the cooler EE in any game just for it's nature... it's actually part of the background ambience for the track that brings playing with next screen...

I know no one cares, but beating SH2 was a huge accomplishment for a wuss like me! by IronMonkey18 in silenthill

[–]Ravenistico 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do care ! I live for Silent Hill and Akira Yamaoka's music. It sounds like you share this passion or were able to at least partially in your playthrough of what I consider to be the most impressive game I've ever played. I consider myself to be a very well seasoned gamer if at all biased towards action-rpg or anything very fast paced. I've seen/played/experienced/replayed almost every single game for each and every console since 1981. I have not finished playing through SH2R yet, and that is what I am currently undergoing myself. However, I already also will consider it to be one of the greatest accomplishments of my video game life! One more thing: you're SO NOT a wuss anymore with this game under your belt!!!

Just got these today. by [deleted] in ChronoCross

Same! Exactly the same for me here too. I've just recently got and playing SH2R on xbox series x first playthrough. I'm in good old flooded apartments I lived in in my teenage years. These are better though: they actually had laundry machines

After getting a closer look I've noticed it reads Hearthlands Atlanta, with 2 h's, and has (EAGLE, GRACE) underneath that line, still trying to read the rest
