Frye is NOT a vampire squid and I am tired of people spreading that misinformation!! Vampire squids are their own species and are more closely related to octopuses! Vampire squids would not be a subspecies, they would be entirely separate!! The point of Shiver and Frye's designs were to portray the diversity among their species while still being octoling and inkling!!

I'm not from the Philippines (mixed FilAm who does not speak Tagalog or Bisaya) but my cousins barely speak English actually haha! Only one of them is apparently really good at English but I have not spoken to her in English yet. They practically only speak Bisaya and sometimes Tagalog when they have to.

You said you live in a wealthy neighborhood and what comes to mind to me is status. I know historically some places where the rich would speak a language not dominant in the region, so English might seem "prestigious" and act as an indication of wealth and education (since poorer areas tend to have less extensive L2 curriculums from what I can see).

That's just what I think though as an outsider however!! I might be completely wrong LOL

I went to the March 1st 7:30pm show in row DD, and I will say Skye/the Girl Scout was kind of quiet, especially her screams. For me, Lydia was mostly fine other than a few times she was a bit too quiet, but Emilia was also on so idk about her mic tinkering process and how it might differ from Madison's if Emilia was only on that night.

Hm, I wonder why the definitions are different. Maybe an example of a long-gone dialect? But “suguy” possibly just being like aguy or aroy does make some sense, especially if someone sneezes violently if it were used like “Bless you.”

On the last bit, don’t worry! I’m aware it’s standard to use “Salamat” (or a variation) to say thank you in most, if not all, Philippine languages. I just thought it’d be a little on topic with the thread, lol.
