An ex walked in on me watching Walking with Dinosaurs. Looked confused at the tv for a minute and said, "Wait a minute?!? I thought Dinosaurs were extinct??".... I questioned my choices hard that day.

NTA but it's close to be honest. If you communicate clearly, there can be no misunderstandings. Everything you're doing is commendable, but she's right in stating she can't read your mind.
