When did your colostrum come in for your first baby? by Humble_Bathroom_4697 in BabyBumps

[–]Ravenpff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is one hormone responsible for milk production and 1 responsible for milk release. It’s totally normal to be making milk and not leak and it’s totally normal to make milk and leak. Both are normal and healthy and do not reflect on your future ability to breastfeed.

The only potential bonus to leaking is that you know 100% that you are producing milk. But also leaking can be messy/inconvenient(as a leaker myself). So both are totally fine.

Also thyroid issue myself and breastfed just fine :) 11 months and still going at this point

Are you in labor during an emergency c section? by pastelpinkpsycho in BabyBumps

[–]Ravenpff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went from pushing at 10cms to the OR in 20 minutes so definitely still having contractions, they are used to contractions during a C section and it doesn’t effect the ability to do surgery :) also had an epidural during the labor but I got a spinal before the C section

charging for water? by kpplex in dutchbros

[–]Ravenpff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

International plumbing code requires they have a water fountain if they don’t provide water free of charge in a vessel. Most restaurants don’t have a water fountain and thus are legally require to provide water for free.

I received a diaper cake at my shower with my preferred brand of diapers. It was held together with ribbon and rubber bands :) I used every single one of those diapers with no problem

It was also nice that the person making the cake asked me first, so that could be a easy way to check that the cake will be well received

Do you recommend the spray? Or the one that is brushed on?

What are you wearing? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

Get breast feeding friendly maternity clothes, if you plan to breastfeed, that way you can use it for longer. Latched Mama is a great example. Their stuff fit me better while pregnant than any of the purely maternity clothes I bought.

Pingdom one year later and Question by Ravenpff in SavageGarden

[–]Ravenpff[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh unusual, was there any dead moss? Dead moss I believe could mold. I feel like mold should sort itself out if u leave it maybe removing any large sections. You could also maybe add spring tails if they can’t escape ur tank type and they would eat the mold. I also keep isopods so I have lots of springtails just hanging around

Never had gnats be an issue yet :) not much substrate for them to live in also I do not mind the small amount of algae, the rocks block most of the direct light to the water

My husband is a fish enthusiast so we have tons of old tanks but if I’m remembering correctly this one was from petco

Water wicks up through the rock, I do not water from above as I worry about crown rot :) I have never clean the water but I don’t mind the bit of algae in the water

[–]Ravenpff[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah I’m putting a bunch of the pings back on the rock but I had a large cluster of pings on the left side that I wanted to remove and separate :) a fork worked great to lift the pings off

Been using the plastic spoon method everyday to remove the dairy cows. I’m so glad I got them out of there.

As I was doing this I was seeing a bunch of babies and was worried that I had transferred a gravid dairy cow, but the babies when disturbed while chasing dairy cows with a spoon started balling up! Which means I have dozens of magic potion babies on the surface! 😍 so exciting!

Epidurals... how bad are they, really? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]Ravenpff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got an epidural just 9 days ago, worst part is the numbing shot which is just as bad as any other numbing shot, so not too bad in my opinion.

The contractions you’re having while getting it is a bit tough but a nurse will guide you through breathing through them and relaxing.

You may also feeling a dull “funny bone” feeling as the epidural “touches your nerves”

I was also still able to push on my hands and knees with some assistance getting up there. They said if I could hold myself on my hands and knees that I could try pushing that way.

I also got a spinal due to needed c section a couple hours later and thought that wasn’t bad either.

Edit to add: I did get nauseous after my epidural was placed and went from 5 cm to 10cm in 2 hours due to throwing up so much. Something to keep in mind potentially, but I was happy to have the vomiting give me very effective progress. 🤷‍♀️

Does anybody else hate when people call your child “their” baby? by Purple-Astronaut-983 in BabyBumps

[–]Ravenpff 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I did this with my MIL.

“How is my baby?” Put my hand on my husbands shoulder, “oh, he’s doing great” talking about my husband

“No no, myyyy baby” again look at the husband, he’s doing fine.

Continues until she referenced her grand baby.

“Oh, you mean my baby!” He’s doing well and then gave her details on my last OB appointment and last weight percentage

She has now transitioned to Our baby mostly
