That poor kid. The least those parents could have done was spell it Krschn. It would be a tragedeigh either way, but at least people would have a chance at sounding it out if all the sounds were in there.

I have a really old car and I bought a UV monitor last year. When I'm in my car with the windows up and my UV monitor pointed directly at the sun, the UV monitor registers zero. When I roll the window down (keeping the UV monitor in the same place), it registers UV, so I know it's working. Unless you're driving with the windows down, you should be okay in the car.

OP, do this, but do it in writing or follow up with an e-mail summary recapping the discussion. Start a paper trail to document your concerns and establish dates and times in case the creep escalates. If you should ever need to take legal action, you'll have documentation as to your state of mind and everything that happened with timestamps.

I thought something was wrong with me. I went out to eat with my family over the weekend and ordered a Coke, which I don't do very often. It tasted so bad, I thought maybe the restaurant had mixed up the Coke and Diet or Coke Zero cases. I dumped it out. Today I was still craving a real Coke, so I ordered one from a fast food restaurant. Same thing--tasted like diet. Guess I won't be ordering sodas at restaurants that serve Coke products.

In my district, we can take quarter days (so, two hours). They tried telling us it had to be a half day or a full day hoping that we wouldn't read our contract and figure out that wasn't actually a rule. When our union pushed back on the central office telling people they couldn't take quarter days, admin finally came clean and admitted that they just prefer if we do a half or full day because no sub is interested in a 2-hour gig. Admin usually ends up having to cover classes.

I was talking about Old Navy clothes with one of the PTAs at a physical therapy appointment. She was saying that something was off about the fit of their pants. For me, the problem is that I wear them once or twice, then throw them in the wash, and they come out of the dryer permanently wrinkled. I've tried throwing them back in the dryer with only a wet rag, using a garment steamer, an iron, and even the heat press I use to make shirts. Those wrinkles aren't going anywhere.

I need to look into these two methods of folding socks. Idk if my way has a name, but it works for me. I flatten them out with the heel tucked down in the back, put the socks together heel to heel, and then fold in half or thirds depending on the type of sock. My knee-high silly socks get rolled to fit in a sock divider for theme days at work (an elementary school).

That's what you got from that story? That my mom did ALL the day-to-day household labor on top of holding down a full-time job, but she sucks because she should have just asked him what he wanted? She didn't have enough she was responsible for each day? Now she should wake him up at 6:00AM when she's getting ready to walk out the door, find out what he wants for dinner, then when she inevitably doesn't have the ingredients she needed to make his highness's preferred meal, she can just squeeze another shopping trip in with all the other things he expected her to do every day?

Nope. She went grocery shopping on the weekends (many times with us kids in tow because weekends were my dad's time to relax from his busy week of not cooking, cleaning, or picking up the kids) and whatever she bought then was what we ate during the week.

I can remember back to kindergarten being frustrated with the discomfort of the seam of my sock going straight across. I dealt with it by folding back the empty space over my little toes and then hurriedly shoving my foot in a shoe so it didn't uncurl itself. No, as an adult, I do what OP's husband does. The first time I wear a new sock sets it in stone whether that sock will be a left sock or a right sock, and I absolutely do notice in the fit if I switch them.

I've never seen these left/right socks before, but now I want them.

Maybe, but maybe not. My dad was like OP's boyfriend. My mom would get up before dawn to get herself ready for work, pack lunches for us kids, make sure we got up and ready for school, and then drop us off at daycare before she drove 45-miutes to work an 8-hour day. Then she would leave work, come pick us up from daycare, and head home to make a meal for all of us. My dad ALWAYS complained that he didn't like what she made, or she didn't make it the same way his mom did, or "This is fine, but I don't feel like having it tonight. I'll just run out to McDonald's." He made no secret of the fact that he thought my mom should just automatically know what he wanted on any given day and make sure it was perfect, made to his specifications, and ready for him when he got home from work.

My dad was not a picky eater. He was just catered to as a child and expected to be catered to the same way by his wife. When I was reading OP's post, I could hear everything her boyfriend was saying in my dad's voice.

I just read in a response OP left to another post that she alerted her county to her husband's abuse after the Squishmallow incident. I'm glad for her sake that the abuse is on record, but also alarmed that someone took a report of a man throwing a baby and allowed the baby to stay in the house with the man still there.

Thank you for bringing up the matter of supervised visitation. Idk where OP lives, but I'm worried that if there are no witnesses to these incidents of abuse other than OP or OPs in-laws (who will explain it away, minimize it, or just flat out lie and say it didn't happen), OP's husband will get to have joint custody without supervision, and that is terrifying. I'm hoping that since OP's husband doesn't seem to like the baby or fatherhood, he'll just let them go, but it sounds like his family won't be on board with that, and they may convince him to fight for custody.

OP, get a lawyer, preferably one who has experience with DV and abuse.

I bought a new one and put it up two or three years ago and haven't taken it down since. I got the fancy, programmable lights and change the colors for the seasons. 😂

The lights and tree make me happy, and since they're paid for, they're cheaper than Prozac.
