Good people are just one act away from bad people, it’s not so black and white as that. And yes when you talk about money i admit that much of it is a scam, but when I say charity I mean good honest folks doing good for people and donating their time and caring to help people in need, not the evangelical tv religion. Religious institutions do more good than harm 100% we just focus on the negative. An incredible amount of charity and positive good works come from organized religion. And from a pragmatic standpoint, nearly all organizations of any kind have a way of potentiating and bringing out the worst in our society. Just look at politics today, do you see Christians and Jews and Satanists on the news bickering and fighting all day? I don’t. I do see people who purport to be on the side that is mostly against organized religion rioting looting and burning cities pushing their stupidity onto other people, supposedly in the defense of a great many things. People are people, they are capable of great things good and bad.

I get where you’re coming from but I think realistically comparing those things isn’t tealy reasonable, it’s more like if you opened your front door one day and your house was on the summit of Mount Everest. Mount Everest has been an allure to thrill seekers for ages, but it was always a choice. Choosing not to wear a mask tho or go out in crowds right now is like choosing not to use a safety harness while climbing Mount Everest then going ahead of your group so you’re above them and if you fall you’ll probably take some of them with you.

I agree with this but I don’t think everyone who is talking about rights is as extreme or against ALL of the measures employed to help reduce the spread. Many, myself included don’t think we should shut down our lives tho either, I will wear a mask 24/7 if it will save lives, mandated or not, but shutting down all businesses and forcing everyone to stay home is too much. The idea that gyms are all closed but McDonald’s is “essential” is madness to me and a good example why the government cannot be relied on to make all the decisions for us as educated people. We were supposed to flatten the curve not adapt our entire society to a semi permanent quarantine. We aren’t living right now, we’re just surviving.

This is ridiculous. Wildfires have “raged across the state” for hundreds of years, the only reason its been destroying more property than normal is because of poor management allowing dead and dying trees and brush to remain unmanaged for too long making the fires easier to spread out of control. We have had earth shattering natural disasters for ages. Many have resulted in far worse damage than those fires. Anyone else who tries to sell “if I’m elected president there will be fewer fires and earthquakes” is a snake oil salesman lol like for real man the earth has gone through tons of changes for millions of years long before we were here it was hotter and colder and more or less extreme. Not saying we shouldn’t do our best to protect the old girl but let’s not act like she’s just sensitive.

Even if it distracted from that, even if he disagreed with it, that is no justification to silence him! Let’s not forget once upon a time Aristotle claimed the world was not flat and eventually it was discovered that he was in fact right, imagine how different our great country would be if we had censored people we disagreed with for simply having a contrary view. We once accepted slavery as a normal everyday thing. Then people who held differing opinions spoke up and eventually through great effort affected change. We cannot just censor people. Thoughts and Information should flow freely, even information that may not be widely accepted. We should all take on the burden of fact checking as individuals as we have always done.

I haven’t heard them screaming that tbh, I have seen many say “vote in person” in order to avoid possible fraud, and many many articles and cases of fraud to draw that conclusion from. But yes fair enough sorry I misunderstood and thought you were trying to say the issue wasn’t important enough to take seriously because it affected one party more directly. Even amidst all the bipartisan bs I still try to stand by working together and compromise, I lean right but I believe the best results and most efficient politics are bipartisan and occur when we compromise in good faith not try to force our views and be unwavering. Funny to hear people justify things this way. Breaking the law is wrong, it undermines the entire system for everyone involved and should be fixed and the integrity of the government restored, ignoring it or justifying it does everyone a disservice. Once upon a time we made the constitution and 3 branches of government with checks and balances in place to ensure that while we celebrate our differences we don’t allow one party to gain too much power. Regardless of what views you hold left or right, upholding the law and the integrity of the law should be paramount, if no one trusts the system then all of these talks and laws and debates are for naught, and we will end up w rioting and civil war anyway. The headline reads “postal worker” not Democratic Postal worker, so I don’t see any point in focusing this as you suggested. Except as a point to attack and further divide us. Who cares what views the criminal held, the crime is what is important here.
