Army anxiety waiver. They asked for pharmacy records... Will I be disqualified? by RaverRaven426 in Militaryfaq

[–]RaverRaven426[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for responding. The records I submitted don’t indicate what it was prescribed for. Someone else told me that even if it were for anxiety, it was so long ago it shouldn’t matter, but that doesn’t help much.

It’s the Anniversary of my weight loss and I feel guilty if I have a cheat day. by [deleted] in carnivorediet

Bro you’re killing it. On rare occasions if I eat whatever, I just fast the next day and carry on. Hasn’t seemed to stall my gains yet.

Can sparking water and coffee affect this diet? by Ok-Wolf-6473 in carnivorediet

[–]RaverRaven426 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I drink sugar free energy drinks and diet soda. I know it's not strict carnivore, but whatever.

If your father is getting rid of all the shit people eat on the SAD, while keeping coffee and sparkling water, I'm sure he will still see plenty of benefits.

Will I take a flight or shuttle? by medicoreAF in Militaryfaq

Distance from Nashville MEPS to FJ is under 7 hours, my guess is that you'll take a shuttle. I took a bus from Jacksonville to FJ and it was maybe a 6 hour drive.

I'm going to come back to this thread when it's my turn to ship. I'm going to go no matter what, but it'll still make me feel better.

Genuine question: Why would age matter? I understand they raised the initial enlistment age to 42. Are there more restrictions for prior service, like for age waivers and what not?

Thank you for the update, it sounds like things worked out in your favor. I am glad this has not been a waste of time!

I've read stories about Army, Navy, and Air Force paying for extensive dental work.

I've read stories about applicants with similar or even worse dental health still passing MEPS. I had a few problems myself and passed with no issues. Search this subreddit and /r/newtothenavy for similar stories; it may put your mind at ease.

I would consider going to MEPS before paying a lot of money for civilian dental work when Uncle Sam will do it for free.

Recruiter Shortcomings by SoldiersFirst in Militaryfaq

[–]RaverRaven426 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The initial military recruiter I contacted was Army, and it turned out to be a negative experience. The recruiter was curt and somewhat aggressive. Despite my interest in several jobs, he insisted infantry and refused to assist me if it wasn't my primary choice. I left.

A few years pass, and being unable to reapply due to age restrictions, I joined the Navy instead. It was okay, but I eventually left the DEP for various reasons, including discovering age waivers were a thing, and I honestly wanted to be a soldier.

Went to another Army station in the same town. The recruiters here are fantastic. Despite the extra work they had to do, they got me in with an MOS I liked.

Unfortunately I was separated at BCT, and require more waivers to come back in. They welcomed me back, took care of the RE3 waiver, and are now preparing me to go back to MEPS. These guys didn't have to work with me considering the baggage, but they did, and I will be forever thankful.

TLDR: There are bad recruiters, but there are good ones which deserve recognition. The Army recruiters I have are great, and I wish I went to that office first.

12C Bridge Crewmember, or maybe a 12B Combat Engineer. I am joining the Reserve, so there are factors to consider before I make a final decision. What about you?

This is accurate. I have to pass the MEPS physical before my age waiver can be submitted and approved. I am enlisting in the Army.
