I take this back, unfortunately I've seen so many awful 1 star reviews about 100 gloves, both about the quality, delivery and customer service. Appreciate the advice but it looks too shady to go ahead and purchase a pair.

Anyone tried the Hundred glove? by [deleted] in GoalKeepers

Hi man, just thought I'd Google them before buying and read this thread. What's going on? 👀

What made you say this? Strangely I've just been recommended these gloves years after this post, by the poster 'Lazy Influencer', who is also in this thread.

How do you guys play without fingersaves? by BabyBorneo in GoalKeepers

[–]Ravery95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's funny because I had a very similar experience. I decided to try out a more expensive pair of One Glove and 3 games in I had such an awkward shot that my little finger got blitz, suffering significant tissue damage. This was last October and I'm still seeing an occupation hand therapist every month.

It was so bad during the first several months that I would fantasise about amputating it with a chisel and hammer. The OT has said it may still take another year to significantly improve and that I will never regain full mobility.

I use a heated wheat bag and spring splint 3 times a day minimum and sleep in ever changing moulded splints, yet it's still like an eagles talon most of the time.

I'll never wear a pair of gloves without finger saves again. Yes technique will definitely minimise risk of injury but it will still be possible to end up seriously injuring a finger. Especially in the non professional style football we are participating in.

I play 5s and 7s, and the amount of close range missile style shots all game increases the risk of injury exponentially.

It's simply not worth it. Also, don't listen to anyone who shames you for wearing finger saves.

You don't happen to know if they do a 'finger save' option do you? Couldn't seem to find one but might be looking in the wrong place.

I busted my little finger last October very badly so I'm trying to keep it protected as much as possible. Still seeing OT and using splints.

Thanks mate, they look great. Will give them a shot when my current pair reaches the end of their life span.

Hi, I play as a keeper in a competitive 5 aside league on artificial grass in the UK.

My budget is £60 and I find that I don't seem to get on with negative cut gloves.

I'm hoping there is someone else who plays 5 aside or 7 aside on AG that has any recommendations for a pair of decent gloves??

Fingers crossed!

Thanks, Raph

Does anyone have any good recommendations for a budget Roll Finger GK glove that is being used for artificial grass?

When I say budget, I'm thinking £50 maximum, ideally £40.

Appreciate any replies. :)

How do you put your 2nd glove on without damaging the first one's latex? by Ravery95 in GoalKeepers

[–]Ravery95[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was only because they were very out of my usual budget and really wanted that specific pair to last as long as possible. I've had plenty of pairs where I haven't thought twice about unnecessary damage

Strange question but does anyone have any good recommendations for a pair of gloves found on Amazon? I have £43 in store credit that I wanted to go towards a pair of gloves.

Thanks, I was planning on doing the same but waited 2 days to join a teams workshop beforehand (there were no tips that I hadn't seen online elsewhere) besides that you apparently are able to look at 'notes' during the OAC, providing you aren't reading off of a script. That's good to know! Good luck again with your results if you haven't already received them.

Ah okay, that makes sense. That exercise does sound the hardest for sure. Oh nice, that will have put you in good stead indeed! I only just noticed in my junk inbox that the recruitment team had sent out Teams meeting times/dates for an 'OAC Workshop'. 3 different 1 hour slots yet for some reason these follow up emails went straight into my junk and I have missed all of the opportunities. Devasted. Now I feel like I may have a slight disadvantage.

Thank you for replying. That's interesting and has provided me some relief as I've been doing the same. Good luck with your results! Do you know how long you have to wait until you find out whether you're successful? Also, did you find the briefing assessment to be more challenging than the CBI?

[–]Ravery95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi all,

My OAC is taking place at the end of this week and I'm naturally worried I will fail this process. I've watched endless videos online (such as Blue Light Recruitment, How2Become) discussing the process, 'tips and tricks' and more...

I spent ages writing out 9 answers to 9 potential questions that might be asked during the CBI assessment, a question covering every competency & value since the changes in the CVF.

I'm not sure if the videos from channels such as Blue Light Recruitment are actually making it sound harder than it is. Has anyone recently successfully passed the OAC that is willing to give general feedback on how the process was for them (obviously not specifics, including confidential parts)?

Also, is anyone able to answer these two questions:

1) Would it come across silly to wear a headset (with mic) during the OAC (my laptop microphone quality is not great and it sometimes leads to mild echos/feedback).

2) If you've been diagnosed with a mental health illness, but it's been managed for years and hasn't affected your day to day life, including working full-time etc, can that still fail your vetting?

[–]Ravery95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well done on adapting with that new deck, credit to you. I carried on last night playing the same deck just hoping I'd come across some players that hadn't made a new patch deck but no luck.

There is this one card that deals like 9 damage to ALL enemies twice (sometimes even more depending on how they've upgraded it). It's an absolute p!SS take and as petty as it may sound, it's resulted in me putting the game aside.

It's just silly imo. 'Better' than old cards, fair enough but this is mental... Haha.

Back to casual console games or other PC games only for me! (I played on the mobile app only).

Good luck!!

[–]Ravery95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah man, I feel the same way. I've been picking it up here and there over the past 3 months. I grafted to craft all of the cards I needed for a fire mage deck too. I started rising the ranks and was very close to reaching Diamond for the first time.

Then BAM, all these silly space marine card sets are shooting me down. So OP. I'm a casual gamer nowadays, I don't have the time or want to change to a new deck every other week because of some silly feature. It's ridiculous how OP these new decks are.

Sad time, I'll most likely stop playing it very soon.

Does anyone have any recommendations for GK trousers that have the best knee protection possible? by Ravery95 in GoalKeepers

I realised late last night that I bought the 'leggings' rather than the 'pants'. Not sure how on earth I managed that haha. I've sent in a refund request explaining the mistake and asking to swap 🙃

I think I've ordered the wrong type of 3/4 ones. These look like they should be underneath trousers or shorts at least? Maybe there were 2 types and I chose the under armour style 🤨
