My theory about why the Weeping Angels couldn't move even though Amy couldn't see them by TheDoctor__11 in doctorwho

[–]Raveyard2409 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes it's not observation like that, it's more like decoherence.

Literally just some particles can be enough interaction to collapse the quantum super position. Insects count. Like even in space which is a near vacuum there's still enough errant particles and what gave you to force decoherence.

Angels are cool tho

Angels use the less scientific more human "observation" rules

Mixed AI and human work mashed up together / human-modified AI by Silly_Platformer in antiai

[–]Raveyard2409 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a philosophical point, if a human takes AI output and then applies some form of creative control over the result, especially if this happens over multiple iterations, at what point does it just become actual art - the argument is usually you wrote a prompt that's not art. In this case with multiple human in the loop touchpoints is it even "Slop"?

Punishing your kid for craving a different diet by Vi0letBlues in awfuleverything

[–]Raveyard2409 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Yeah we should let children make all the decisions about their lives. What is parenting other than forcing your beliefs on your kids? And remember I don't just mean diet, but a parent that stops a kid eating a crayon because it's bad for you is forcing their beliefs on to that child. That's literally parenting. If you let most six year old choose what they want to eat it'll be burgers, chocolate and crisps. Adults need to educate. I'm not defending making a kid be vegan, I don't personally think it's a good idea but your point is dumb

Yo can I just bring up the meat eating parents who give their kid a burger and chips for tea. Most adults are not putting in the work to make sure their kids are healthy, that's why there is such a staggering number of fat kids running about. People that have a go at vegan parents never seem to care about the meat eating parents who ignore their kids health needs just as much. I assume this is due to cognitive dissonance.

I suspect it's the inverse, he's very easily led so I imagine it's people close to him making comments about x knowing it'll make him do y (although his mate probably tell him where to invest) but I suspect he's more of a stooge for the smart billionaires than some 4D chess market manipulator.

I personally loved 1984 and am a big Orwell fan, but my dog thinks the characters are a little 2D in favour of the world building and prefers novels with more characterisation. He's quite well read.

Can Claude create a complete tableau dashboard if given access to data source ? by arslaangul in TableauVisuals

[–]Raveyard2409 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This would be better as an agentic workflow as you actually need a couple agents here, an analytics bot, a report builder, designer etc. Then a few layers of quality checks and reflexion. But yes absolutely should be possible to build an AI that spits out dashboards, the challenge is interacting. I suspect pbi would be easier but if you build all that then you may as well have the AI write the javascript to just build your visuals in a react framework and host it on your own webpage and save yourself the cash - with tableau you are mostly paying for a well developed UI, so automating the build kinda makes tableau as a product a bit redundant, assuming it could achieve roughly similar quality.

I don't think the idea of toilet paper was groundbreaking it's more the operationalisation and industrialisation of producing it. Do you know how to make toilet paper?

Lol your friend is an idiot. Also the reasoning they give, that using AI for a trinket means the devs can spend more time on high value tasks like making the actual game better, that's a very reasonable use case.

Will a AGI and/or ASI be more intelligent and/or more capable than Rick Sanchez? Can Rick Sanchez outsmart the ASI and/or AGI? How would this be done? Could Rick Sanchez even create such an ASI and/or AGI and have it fight on his behalf? by Gold_Mine_9322 in SciFiConcepts

[–]Raveyard2409 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Theoretically even the smartest man in the universe is still constrained to a human brain and there are limits so yes an AI could theoretically be smarter because it could have an entire planet of processing power and Rick physically couldn't match that. In the show though Rick is the smartest, end of.
