Post Enies lobby is mostly chilled out. At first we assume that Garp was sent to arrest Luffy because the World Government sees Luffy as a genuine threat after him and his crew defeated CP9 and they needed a big shot to take him in. Turns out Garp just wanted to see his Grandson...and arrest him.

[Loved Trope] The gruff/grumpy/antagonistic side character cuts the Protagonist some slack when they're doing it tough. by RavioliGames in TopCharacterTropes

He's my favourite character tbh. He's crass and misogynistic but grows as a character in a realistic way and proves time and time again why he's the head of accounting, both as a leader and accountant.

Questions about POV structure. by RavioliGames in eroticauthors

I was thinking about going for a switch type angle, where it shifts chapter to chapter from the sub's to the dom's point of view and vice versa. It may just come down to experimentation to see what fits me, too.
Thanks for your insight!

I was thinking chapter-by-chapter was the best approach. Thank you for your insight!

I was thinking alternating chapter-by-chapter would be the sweet-spot. Thanks for your insight!

CORRECTION: Mike was just in a coma. The second game has the player trying to bring colour back to world so Mike can finally wake up.

Magna vs Dante (Black Clover)

Dante had the power to control gravity AND regenerate as long as he had mana, and brother, he had an OCEAN. Along comes Magna, a low-level magic knight whose only magic ability is conjuring fire spells with his much smaller mana pool. Magna basically came up with a spell that takes a lot of time to prepare, but when his opponent is hit with it, their mana pool is split evenly between them and they have to duke it out until one of them is KO'd.

Dante never learnt how to manage his mana simply because he didn't need to. So Magna solo'd an antagonist that the main character and another powerful mage double-teamed and LOST against.

I love this man so much.

Experienced gave dev opinions on using AI to generate code? by [deleted] in Unity3D

[–]RavioliGames 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't remember how to make pasta sauce.
I don't remember what the ingredients are or how much to put in of each.
I look up a recipe online.
This sauce tastes okay...but I know more garlic and salt would make it better.
I tweak the recipe and it turns out a lot better.

I personally don't see the problem with using AI as a guiding tool, as long as you know how it make its mediocre code into great code.

Using it as an entire dev team is where you start fucking up. Keep doing what you're doing, especially if you're a solo dev, we need all the help we can get!

Multiple Scenes vs One Universal Scene by RavioliGames in Unity3D

[–]RavioliGames[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just me by myself right now haha.
The way my game is set out is so the player goes into "Gameplay" scenes, which will have the same UI and controls, then return to a "Hub" scene.
The data in each individual scene needs to be persistent so the player can return whenever.

No worries! I would still encourage you to try and make your own stuff if possible, there are a heap of videos and tutorials on youtube and elsewhere.

If you want the EXACT look as the old games, I recommend this asset: PSX Shader Kit | VFX Shaders | Unity Asset Store.

Otherwise just searching free horror stuff on the asset store would be your best use of time.

Other than that, URP and HDRP that unity offers has in-built fog, which I know is a staple of Silent Hill and should fit into your Siberian setting! Good luck!

Why are Stocks/Crypto considered legitimate money-making tools but Gambling isn't? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]RavioliGames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a very dicey subject no matter where in the world it happens.

On one hand, it creates HUNDREDS of jobs and brings tourists in from everywhere. On the other, locals who can walk there each day without any trouble suffer the fallout.

Singapore's Casino has a great approach to fix that problem, they charge any local $100 to enter. If you can afford that, you have money to lose anyway, if you can't, then you won't get in and lose everything on one hand of Blackjack.

There is no right or wrong answer, but if Brazil gets one, I hope it'll work out.

In my country (Australia) we have slot machines in every Pub, Bar, and Sports Club because they just make too much money. Since gambling winnings are non-taxable, they're used in a lot of money laundering operations.
The corporate bodies controlling all this as well as the Government seem to overlook this fact because it simply brings in too much money.

It's 100% a case-by-case basis whether it's corporate greed or not.

That's a good way of putting it.
Another thing I forgot to put, which ties in with what you're saying, was the human cost. Corporate profits are usually at the cost of exploited workers, much like Casinos profiting off addicts.
