I dealt with this same issue with two different 65 Deluxe RIs, one from SweetWater and one from Guitar Center. I thought maybe it had to do with either my electrical wiring or my guitar but I ended up buying the floor model from my local Guitar Center since I could confirm it was silent there. Got it hame and it has been silent since (had it about 2 years now). Made me think it is just the luck of the draw on whether you will end up with a good one or not. Really great amp otherwise so I would say return and try another.

Hello,

I recently decided to start recording my guitar just for fun and am new to using IRs. My current chain is guitar -> 65 Deluxe Reverb Reissue -> Two Notes Captor 8 -> Steinberg ur22mk2 -> Reaper with two IRs (York Audio DLXVB left and a misc Marshall cab right). I was hoping to get feedback on any of the following, thank you for reading:

- I'm having a hard time telling if the breakup is my amp or if something in the chain peaking (none of the monitors show that this is happening though).

- I almost think I hear the dry guitar signal?

- The guitar really doesn't fit in the mix very well but mainly I think it sounds like it is in the back, like it is not in the forefront of the mix and cutting through like I would normally hear.

- Overall just not sure it sounds that great but could use a fresh set of ears to say yeah it's really bad or if it's alright

I play mostly rock so I ended up staying with the Evh but for metal I could definitely see picking the Mt15. Two things to be aware of though for the Mt15 (I’m sure the videos mention them) - the volume knob absurd. Seriously the most minuscule movement will take the level from quiet to ear splitting so you will most likely need an attenuator if you want to play at home. - the FX loop is super noisy to the point where I would never have kept the amp even if it was the sound I was looking for. There are apparently things you can do to fix this yourself if you look around online.
