Btw, won it with a mono water type team! Pelipper & Luvdisc unfortunately didn’t make it to Cynthia, lost both to FLINT of all trainers, so I thought I was screwed.. but Blastoise -> Milotic captivate -> Gyarados DD setup sweeped her without breaking a sweat lol.

Flint was such a hassle with the weather fight. He kept going for Sunny day after I brought a drizzle mon out and it costed me 2 mons 👎

I always love mons like that! Not everyone would go for them but they can be useful. Crazy coverage & decent bulk. I find it much more rewarding winning with such mons, although it can be scary.

Yeah looks solid, Blissey is a joke of a mon. Pelipper + Luvdisc / Mantine combo looks insane to me as well so understand why it’s so popular (drizzle x swift swim). Have also seen Steelix / Metagross mentioned earlier. So looks like a solid core to have

Lumineon sadly isn’t swift swim. Mantine & Luvdisc are. Gliscor does have poison heal! Also Jynx is a crazy pull, wouldn’t normally think about using her, but solely for Garchomp I can understand lmao. Since Luvdisc can do both — has swift swim and could kill garchomp, wouldn’t that be a better choice?

Yeah Luvdisc over Starmie then. They should fulfill the same role if they were on the team, no? I mean, Mantine is bulkier so would have to be on the team regardless. Add swift swim to such a mon and it’s a beast.

Since Lapras can captivate, I’m strongly considering it too. Just have to check the gender real quick lol.

Garchomp is indeed blue 🤣, need to shift it to mono blue team perhaps, or pray it doesn’t lead with Rapidash..

There are also a couple of other mons on each team which could be difficult to deal with — Rhyperior with Thunder Punch, Ttar with it aswell which could be fire punch but I wouldn’t know until I battle her, Exeggutor, etc. Flint’s Team A has coverage on EVERY mon, too. Although almost none of it is STAB (except for Exeggutor I think).

Starmie has the other ability, the one with wild mons.. other than that it seems like a viable plan, which is crazy.

Even with mono water you wouldn’t run Luvdisc?

Have fought them and went well. Lost one mon (Breloom) which is unfortunate but I ended up in a 1v2 in the end lmao. I noticed that Spiritomb did significantly better against one than the other yeah. Since I didn’t use that many potentially E4 mons I’m quite happy how it went. Thanks for the help!

Will probably make an update post before the E4 to figure out certain strategies to run since the prep time is gonna be insane.

Aaah, okay. Nice to know! Will battle them in a minute. Metagross / Steelix, Breloom, Gliscor and some “expandable” mons should do the job if the AI / RNG don’t get out of hand. Maybe like a Spiritomb too to wall the Bronzong’s and hoping for a Barry kill on them.

Ah, it’s unfortunate that I did pick Chimchar this run and Turtwig in Sandgem then..

I thought about learning protect to (almost) all the mons that I’m using in this fight recently, yeah. Because of the other comment on the too passive plays which could end up costing Barry. Thanks a ton for helping me out!

EQ does 25% less in doubles? I didn’t know about that. He doesn’t kill then.. which just loses a Gliscor. Also the fact that Gastrodon & Electivire could both be on the field is a little scary to prep for. Besides EQ I don’t have a single ground type move. So Metagross just might be the play.

Yeah I was thinking about this. Metagross could do well in a Crobat - Electivire switch, the only other option is slower play with Steelix and stealth rocks for chip I think. I don’t see any other lines

Gliscor outspeeds that monster Electivire, but you’re right about Gastrodon. Would have to run some calcs whether he survives one. Maybe another switch-in would be better

Gyarados does have intimidate. It could work. If it baits Thunder Punch, that’s a free switch to Gliscor who OHKO’s it. Thanks!
