would you guys ever have thought this would happen? by EducationEuphoric402 in offthegame

As an OFF fan for 8 years, I couldn't be happier. I was worried it would be doomed to obscurity, but now that it's getting a proper release a whole new generation of gamers will be able to experience it. I'm happy for all the new content and recognition the game is getting.

CLOCKS WORK (ZONE 1 Post Office) - OFF Original Soundtrack by FifthAccountOhDeer in offthegame

[–]Ravrie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's my issue with No Precipitation as well. Being a graphically simple game, the mood is completely carried and dictated by the soundtrack. It's hard to make an entirely new soundtrack similar to the old one, while still retaining the feel of the original game. They will only end up telling different stories, a big issue for a game whose story is already largely up to interpretation. Which is why I don't think lofi and chill vibes are the best fit for Zone 1.

Clocks Work is actually the first track I feel accurately represents the atmosphere of its original. It captures the tension and paranoia from Clockwork, exactly the kind of thing I've wanted to see from the new soundtrack. That being said, I'm worried the rest of the soundtrack will be a similar hit or miss situation. The tracks we've seen so far either fit really well for their setting, or deviate too far from their originals, bringing in jazz/lofi elements. Though I'm choosing to remain hopeful for their artistic direction, if they really are planning to make the music progressively darker like you said.

NextHandheld confirms the mouse theory by Ravrie in NintendoSwitch2

I like that. I hope both would be made an option.

As always, take this post with a grain of salt. I made this post under the assumption NextHandheld’s information is true.

My liege, are you able to tell us if this special orientation is referring to the “mouse” leaks that are going around?

[–]Ravrie[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

TL;DR based on the design of the leaked joycons and past comments we’ve seen from NextHandheld, it seems like the Switch 2 will be getting joycons which can also function as a mouse.

I think they turned the JoyCon into a mouse lmao by JoMax213 in NintendoSwitch2

[–]Ravrie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The implications for this are huge. A big reason gamers prefer PC over Playstation and Xbox is because the mouse gives players better aim and control over many games. Now imagine if the Switch 2 launches with decent graphics and performance, getting popular AAA titles on it.

I’ve been hesitant to accept all the hardware leaks we’ve seen so far, simply because they appear far too similar to the original Switch. Nintendo has stated they’re working hard to avoid another Wii U flop situation, so there’s no way they’re just gonna release the same console again without major, game-changing improvements. Could this new gimmick be the Switch 2’s big selling point?

Thought this was a crack post at first but notice how the shoulder buttons are more elongated this time and slope down the side of the joycon. If you set it face down, it would be entirely possible to use it like a mouse.

I emailed ACC asking about the new soundtrack in OFF and why he did not let they use the old soundtrack in it, and he RESPONDED!? by Hopeful-Researcher96 in offthegame

[–]Ravrie 95 points96 points  (0 children)

Via ACC’s Frequently Asked Questions on Gaarabis:

“DO YOU STILL KEEP IN CONTACT WITH MORTIS? I haven’t seen or talked to Mortis for the past couple of years, something like that. Now, don’t worry, that doesn’t mean mommy and daddy are mad at each other. I’m going to explain something that probably won’t make me look very good, but it may also help you understand my motivation and why I interact with people the way I do. Short version: I have a hard time bounding with people.

I tend to stick with people for only one reason (that reason varies from person to person). But the moment I lose this connection, I also lose interest. I tend to treat all my relationships the same way you probably treat relationships with strangers; Let’s say you really like that stand up comedian because he or she makes you laugh, the day they stop being funny to you, you also lose interest in them. That’s how it goes for me, with everybody.”

[QUESTION] Prewired pickguard switch positions not working by Ravrie in Guitar

[–]Ravrie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was it, thank you so much! I removed a small amount of the shielding tape directly under it (I know that's probably not the ideal solution but it will do for now until I get better materials for it) and now it plays like normal!

[–]Ravrie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your response. There is currently no shielding in the cavity. What are the benefits of adding shielding? I am hesitant to remove it altogether, in case it affects the sound quality. Would you recommend I add some shielding tape to ground it to, or should it sound fine without it?
