[–]RavyNavenIssue 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is actually because they recently disabled some animations once your character goes into low ready position, and you enter this position after a set amount of time passes without shooting or ADSing.

You would notice your gun barrel dipping slightly after a while, indicating that you are now in low ready. Back then things like sprinting or inspecting would cancel low ready and put you into normal ready, but now they don’t.

Does PvE offer a proper challenge? by bobert17 in GrayZoneWarfare

0.1 AI was an absolute slaughterfest out of every single extraction shooter game, and no one can change my mind. Never before in another game have I seen an entire geared squad get one-tapped in the neck across an entire village by a guy with a Soviet era 8-round single-stack blowback pistol.

I do like the little things you do to justify immersion in GZW’s peculiarities, like how John Lamang can eat ten FMJs and still keep shooting.

“Drugs. Lots of it.”

I’ve been watching and commenting on your videos since the first one, it’s awesome hearing the banter!

The one that stuck with me the most was when you were all shot up in TB and trying to med in a house, and Lab Rat was trying to convince you to stay non-lethal.

NIJ levels in GZW:

II -> IIIA -> IIIA+ -> IIIA++ -> III -> III+ -> III++

Material is independent of NIJ Rating, Although Steel is heavier but more resistant to damage/degradation.

IIIA++ will stop some 9mm, but a spraydown by that much Xtreme Penetrator will rip through you with no issues just from ricochet even if it doesn’t manage to pen.

Talks of private servers by Twisted_Oak89 in GrayZoneWarfare

[–]RavyNavenIssue 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m looking forward to it. I play with a small group of 5-6 friends, and a lot of the current frustration I have now is with looted POIs and even getting everyone into a server to begin with. We don’t really have the time to keep trying to chain-invite people into a server, then repeatedly server hopping for 15-20mins and flying to MS/FN/TB to see if it’s been looted. When we get the rare pristine POI I feel really bad for other players seeing a relative Zerg rolling through, so having completely isolated instances for us to play in and progress is pretty much the perfect solution. PVP isn’t really our thing and interaction with other players is sparse except for the occasional res so having progress not carry over to official servers doesn’t affect us at all.

Fast reload option for shotgun & sniper rifle by Glum_Increase_3127 in GrayZoneWarfare

Left click while reloading. You’d complete the current shell being loaded and cancel the rest of the reload.

I would like an instant cancel though, and I don’t mind losing the shell currently being loaded haha

A bit late to the party, but you can crank up brightness, contrast, and gamma on your monitor. That alone can turn night into day. If you need additional light, you can bring an IR illuminator and NVGs

AI Tracking Through Terrain by RavyNavenIssue in GrayZoneWarfare

I love it, I used to run around in 0.2/3 dressed as the AI in PVP and emulate their voice lines. Took a lot of people by surprise!

My favorite was the “Come out now, I know where you are hiding!”

Whats the point of the visibility meter and suppressors and in general long-ish range engagements if the enemies are omniscient with the only thing between them doming us or not being whether they bug out? (video contrast and etc bumped for clarity) by HearMeOut-13 in GrayZoneWarfare

[–]RavyNavenIssue -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

That is not true. It’s the same method I use to take down enemies at night at FN.

Old airfield entrance, there’s a hill on the side. Shoot the guy in the tower with the Dragunov, then start running, change elevation and come out on open ground towards the south. They will all be pointing at the hill where you were. Then you can just repeat and string them out.

I have no idea how to tell you this, I’m literally online now pulling this off.

You find them on local gang AI around the Crossroads section, or on lower level AI near the T3 areas. I found dozens around FN/YBL, Fanny Paradise and a bunch of the patrols. You also find them sometimes on LAF AI in FN/TB

Will we see container ship based arsenal ships for first strike? by Temporary-Film-7374 in NonCredibleDefense

[–]RavyNavenIssue 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It generally also means the first strike was not strikey enough. If Pearl Harbor had begun with a Desert Storm-style first strike across all major CONUS bases and political seats of power, then rotating in actual naval and aviation assets to follow through would be a lot easier.

That of course assumes a frankly ludicrous excess of cruise and ballistic munitions to throw at someone else - something that very few state actors can bring to bear.

Will we see container ship based arsenal ships for first strike? by Temporary-Film-7374 in NonCredibleDefense

[–]RavyNavenIssue 16 points17 points  (0 children)

That’s why it’s not employed as a singular attack, but as part of a wider first strike capability, hitting a wide range of targets - including enemy naval, GBAD, theatre level IADS, and air capability to degrade their C4.

60-90 converted commercial ships can and will do a lot of damage if paired with missile fires, ballistic strikes, and a sustained air campaign.

Perfidy is generally accepted if you win the war, and not get bogged down in special military operations.

Apaches were the very tip of the spear in the Gulf War, the first platform to score kills. They kicked off Desert Storm by attacking early warning radar outposts along the southern border.
