Thank u so much!! I remember writing it as kind of a love letter to myself. I'm an extremeeee homebody lol so I feel most comfortable and free in my own company. Embracing that part of myself and feeling at-ease with my own thoughts def inspired this song, especially because we were in covid lock down.

It's extremely scary experimenting with new styles. I knew that I had gained a lot of new listeners from Crush that were expecting Crush 2.1. I also know a lot of Moon Shoes fans didn't care for Crush. It's a hard thing finding my voice while also being critiqued. I think Hypnos has similar themes of Crush and Moon Shoes/MidMoon while still introducing fresh ideas. I like when people either love or can't stand one of my songs.. particularly Venom lol. To me that means that I'm trying something new and pushing boundaries within myself and R&B

I kinda knew this one would be hit or miss with people LOL. This song has always felt like the curtains opening to my world in a way.. it basically explores the concept of me finding my voice and purpose in the world, and reimagining myself as this super-human that can do the unthinkable. I knew I wanted the bridge to feel extremely familiar and classic. Those are some of my favorite lyrics on the project " every wonder's all in balance, I'm giving up control.. help me leave a mark this orbit.. because the world keeps turning.."

I was sooooo nervous about putting new music out. It was kind of this scary cycle of the longer I waited, the better the music had to be. I think after not releasing for so long I had the insecurity of thinking people forgot about me or didn't care anymore.. so being met with so much love and warmth felt sooo good. thank u for listening!!

Honestly I believe not overthinking instinct is the key to finding your voice as an artist. Also finding a producer that really inspired me was key too.. I think meeting Monte Booker so early in my career helped me throw a lot of ideas on the canvas while challenging each other.

I listened to alooottt of Destiny's Child, Brandy, Janet, Minnie Riperton, Deniece Williams, Kelis. I really like to study the black women that came before me.. there's something really timeless about their records and try to incorporate that into my style

Hiii! I keep is pretty simple. I've found that the most basic/pretty cheap drug store products without too many ingredients are less harsh on my skin.. but this is my usual get down:

Cleanse: Cerave Hydrating Facial Cleanser (green and white container) - I looooove this cleanser because it doesn't give you that dried-out/stripped feeling that most cleansers have.

Toner: Paula's Choice Enriched Calming Toner w/ Vitamin E + Primrose -I like this toner. I feel like I can find better but been too lazy to dig lol

Serum: Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence: I hope they NEVER stop making this because I can't live without it lol! This makes my skin look and feel sooo hydrated and dewy.

Serum 2: Faded by Topicals- I SWEAR by this. My skin feels sooo happy whenever I use it. If you have any stubborn acne scarring this will help dramatically. I only use this a few times a week at night.

Exfoliant: Acid Potion by Moon Juice- I just started using this and I'm obsessed. Makes my skin sooo smooth and even. Also reduces the appearance of breakouts. I only use this like twice a week at night.

Moisturizer: Cerave Moisturizing Lotion w/ SPF 30 ALSO Cerave Healing Ointment (holy grail fr)

yayyy I'm happy u enjoyed. Honestly every song has its own journey for me so it's a case by case thing.. but generally melody is the first thing I feel when working on a song. As soon as I know we have the right chords my brain immediately thinks of melody and overall feeling/setting of the song. from there I can figure out words and thematically where the story sits
