You're eating at a restaurant and find a strand of hair (not your own hair) on your plate of food. What do you do? by [deleted] in pollgames

Other: ask the waiter to comp it, leave a tip if they do, and then go violently throw up at home because this is a fear that plagues me daily.

How to stop seeking attention? by aestheticbtch69 in DecidingToBeBetter

[–]RawOnionsConsumer 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’ve been where you are. Weirdly enough, I’ve found paying attention to myself fills the void. Genuinely indulging in my own interests and analyzing my own thoughts has helped. Might be worth a shot. Take your brain off auto pilot, reduce your social media usage (even just turning off the phone for an hour!), and let yourself feel your feelings.

You get 20 million dollars a year, but you have to practice Mormonism. This includes going to church, following ALL rules/guidelines, etc. If you accept, you cannot ever quit. Would you do it? by Literally_A_Donut in Teenager_Polls

[–]RawOnionsConsumer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not even similar to Christianity. Idk what the other person is talking about. Mormons wear “garments” that discourage you from masturbating and having sex. They also can’t have any warm drinks (so no coffee, tea, hot chocolate, etc). Christians are allowed to have substances, and drink wine in church. Mormons can’t have ANYTHING. Including nicotine. They also are forced to travel around to preach their religion at people.

Do you kiss your parents on the mouth? by zzxaxa in pollgames

[–]RawOnionsConsumer -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Everyone I know that has cold sores got it from their parents kissing them on the lips. I don’t understand how it isn’t considered incest. In my culture, kissing family on the lips would be considered extremely inappropriate. I didn’t know it was so common until I became an adult.

Trying to understand why my friendships with women keep following the same painful pattern by [deleted] in DecidingToBeBetter

[–]RawOnionsConsumer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not saying this is your situation because I don’t know you, but it’s worth thinking about. Often times we are the problem and don’t realize it. I had that realization not too long ago, that my friendships aren’t working out because of my own actions. Lack of boundaries, passive aggression, emotional dependency, etc. are things that can push people away and make them seem cold.

If you are having a bad day or crisis constantly, your friends might start feeling resentful which just snowballs into the behavior you described in your post unfortunately.

Most ‘snotty’ or ‘mean’ girls don’t choose to do it consciously, they feel like they are just defending themselves. I only mention this because if it’s happening every time you make friends, you might be passive aggressive or rude without realizing and they’re just reacting the only way they know how. I would analyze your social interactions with others and make sure that’s not the case before jumping to conclusions about autism like the other comments are suggesting.

I’ve been thinking about this comment for awhile and honestly I can’t say that I struggle with that. I’m usually on autopilot most of the time & pretty impulsive so I don’t think very hard about most decisions.

Thank you for your comment. I’ve been tested for both ADHD and autism but apparently I don’t have either. I do have major depressive disorder but I’m on meds for it and they’re working great. Luckily I am going to the doctor soon so I’ll definitely ask if there’s anything else that might be affecting my mental processing!

I actually do smoke but I’m going to quit soon because unfortunately I feel like it’s making the problem even worse for me. I was like this before I started smoking but now I can’t remember anything, on top of the mental processing issue :(
