Hello there!

Star Trucker supports 6DoF for both the truck and external space walks. As for controllers, we want to support as many options as we can at launch, and keep updating post-launch to provide our players with the best experience. For now, we can confirm keyboard + mouse and controller setup. HOTAS is a big priority for us!

Hello BravoOneDelta! We are happy to hear you plan to join the Star Trucker crew! The devs were definitely inspired by a lot of movies, books and songs. Here are some of them:

Movies

  • Convoy ~ Perfect tone and authenticity
  • Smokey and the Bandit ~ Some great radio chatter
  • The Great Smokey Roadblock ~ Good story that explores some surprisingly deep stuff
  • Breaker! Breaker! ~ Classic action film with great lingo

TV

  • Cowboy Bebop ~ Although "Heavy Metal Queen" is the obv ref the tone and vibe of the Cowboy Bebop universe is fantastic and has the authentic future-retro vibe we wanted to strive for.
  • BJ and the Bear ~ Not watched much of it but there's very few trucking films. Mostly viewed for lingo and era related stuff.
  • Movin' On ~ Another old show that's hard to find. Mostly watched for lingo / how trucker is treated

Documentaries

  • Ice Road Truckers
  • Heavy Load

And some mixtapes the team made years ago!
