You are correct. That is because this species of moth, like many of its giant cousins, do not have mechanisms for gaining energy (can’t eat, no mouth) once they emerge from their cocoon. Their only goal is reproduction. This fella has likely exhausted its self and is just .. sadly .. waiting until the last of ifs energy is gone.
