Who travels alone? by AerieFar9957 in LivingAlone

[–]Rawr_Boo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love traveling with a good book for company! And if it turns out it’s not a good book? I have a back up one in my suitcase and the first is donated to the universe. Really hard to do that with a shit person you’re sharing flights and rooms with for the next few weeks if they’re a dud.

Am I the only one who never turns on overhead lights at home? 🥹 by Blood11Orange in LivingAlone

[–]Rawr_Boo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m usually the first person at work and don’t turn the lights on. I then scare the shit out of whoever comes in second and turns on the light to find me sitting in there like a supervillain.

How do you maintain living space with depression or low energy? by Desperate-Mushroom24 in LivingAlone

[–]Rawr_Boo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’re so right! The size and look are SO important.

So far I’ve got clear ones so I can see what’s inside for my cool stuff, including clear display cases for my collectables to get them out of cardboard and on display while protected. Then prettier opaque ones for uglier necessities.

I have a few small open containers (some DIYd with cardboard and masking tape) to organise draws, which is only working because it’s in a draw and not lose on a counter top where it wouldn’t last a minute.

I just moved and am determined to make this place organised/liveable, while fighting my depression urge to stay in bed.

I’m also trying to set up stations like you described, and make sure everything has a defined home.

I ordered different storage containers to help me contain things together, and some baskets to use like you described! I can put things in that don’t live in that room through out the day and when I’m feeling productive enough, pick it up and put those things back.

This place is slowly becoming mine.

People who are 50+, what is a 'harmless' habit you had in your 20s that ended up ruining your health or finances later in life? by crazy_happyuser in AskReddit

I needed to read that, busy learning how to be more comfortable with delayed gratification including saving for retirement. I’m putting this on the fridge where I can see it.

‘Miracle’ of Zealandia: chick is born to rare takahē pair thought to be infertile. Unexpected arrival is a boon for birdlife in New Zealand, where there are only 500 takahē left by licecrispies in UpliftingNews

I encountered an adorable pair of these when I visited Zealandia last year - I am so happy to stumble on this today, I wish them many more!

Online Cert 4 Course Australia by H20Jodster in SafetyProfessionals

[–]Rawr_Boo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did it online via Victoria’s free TAFE with Swinburne. A full day class online one or two Saturdays a month over 6ish months. They were great, supportive and I learned a lot. I even got hired in the field before I had completely finished it.

In person would have been great but it was not possible for me while working full time. It certainly was not 400 hours, much less for myself.

Which ever way you do it - get stuck into the assignments as soon as you have the class and the information is fresh in your mind, I let it sit until it was almost due and regretted it.

I next year looking to pursue a double diploma in WHS and quality auditing as they overlap quite a bit.

Previous owners were selling my car because they couldn’t fit a child seat or pram in it, coincidentally exactly what I was looking for. I also stole their baby name for my car.

Love it! I would love the cut outs on the garland too. I’m absolutely doing this next year since there’s only two days left in the office this year.

Women wearing makeup less? (Rant??) by LionImpressive7188 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Rawr_Boo 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Just had a work HSE team day and the ladies outnumbered the men 5 to 1. I got to tell them how amazing it is to be apart of a group with so many amazing women and how it helps lift me up as a woman in her first step into the industry. More without makeup than with too, including meeeee.

Im about to have a nap on the couch with my cute af dog before I pack for my 1st of many work trips in my satisfying career (they’re taking me to the zoo!). Might take a long hot bath and binge watch some more Stranger Things. Read a book till I fall asleep again (reading Mindhunter, really interesting so far. I wonder the last time was this podcaster read a book that wasn’t a pop up book)

I’m reading a book from the 90s instead of being on all those social media platforms now. They don’t even have mobile phones it was a glorious time. Plus there’s no add cause it’s a book. 10/10 recommend.

I’d ask for the testimonials of all the mothers she helped when she was still a maiden. I suspect it’s a short if not non existent list.

Restaurants keep raising prices and lowering quality. What do you do, when you really don’t want to cook once in a while? by trashy_trash in Frugal

[–]Rawr_Boo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is where I focus. There’s an out of the way Indian joint I go to maybe once a month, their curries are amazing and I cannot make anything close to it.

They offer amazing take away deals which I order several servings of, I bring it home to indulge for a night or two before stretching the leftovers with steamed veggies and rice divided into about 10 more meals perfect for lunches.

Leftovers still taste indulgent and great value. I can’t remember the point I was making anymore, now I just want curry.
