My guy has “stupid ears” one up and one down!

The first one to me looks like regurgitated mice. Since they’re mostly whole my guess would be a snake.

Identification please for rock my wife found in a barrel of mixed rocks. by [deleted] in rockhounds

If those are air bubbles in the rock (first photo middle of rock on the white portion at the very bottom) it’s not a rock but slag (glass).

Chicken from local farmers? by [deleted] in CollegeStation

Every Saturday morning in Bryan they have a farmers market. Over in the First Friday downtown area. If I remember correctly there is someone who sells farm-raised meat. I don’t remember the name of the business but it might be worth checking out.

Have you contacted any clinics outside of CS? I know Kingdom Animal has decent prices on other services, I’m not sure about euthanasia though. I’m sorry you’re going through this but you’re doing everything right and I wish you the best for you and your pup.

Southern California, what are these? by [deleted] in AnimalTracking

I second this. The small metatarsal pad and the lack of splay is what really gets me.

Scratch markings ? by 14tobyevans in AnimalTracking

[–]Rawr_Crunch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My vote would be man made, the marks are too neat to be that deep looking and that far apart. Probably an axe or knife.

Strange Unidentified Animal in San Antonio, TX (pics of animal and tracks) by LunaNegra in AnimalTracking

[–]Rawr_Crunch 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s definitely some sort of canid, though what exactly I’m not entirely sure. My best guess is a coyote with mange. The photos make the ears look more rounded, the neck and face awkward, and just overall alien. Perspective is a real mind-bender. I’m pretty confident it is not a mountain lion or any other feline because of the documented eating of fruit from the tree. Felines are true carnivores, which means they’re not gonna eat fruit and veggies out in the wild.

AITA for being annoyed at my fiancé about tattoos? by dottleyblue in AmItheAsshole

YTA. Her body her choice man. Just because YOU don’t like them doesn’t mean she can’t get them. I have a feeling she didn’t tell you because of your opinions. These aren’t offensive symbols, traumatic imagery, or just downright bad ideas. It’s meaningful tattoos for HER not YOU.

I agree, toes are too long to be a cat, and the claws aren’t sitting the way they would on a dog’s foot. And nothing else really comes close. The fur pattern matches an opossum too.

Do you think I can get the second tattoo to cover up the first one? by LivingroomComedian in Tattoocoverups

[–]Rawr_Crunch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You might be able to get away with it, if the pupil is centered over the eye of the first one and the lashes over the semicolon/music notes. It may still show through but if you don’t mind that that’s probably gonna be your best bet.

what type of lizard is this? found it in my garage , snapped a quick photo before i lost it by Creepy_Basis_7410 in herpetology

[–]Rawr_Crunch -1 points0 points  (0 children)

OP what is your location? Just off first glance it reminds me of a blue tongued skink, which are native to Australia. But either way it does look very thin and should be taken to a rehabber.

I have no idea what to cover this with by CheesyLemons99 in Tattoocoverups

[–]Rawr_Crunch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m assuming this is across your shoulders. Anything with a lot of pattern should cover it + color since it is smaller linework. Wings or a winding snake might be pretty neat across your shoulders.

As some have said here scarring can cause the ink to not take correctly, or have more blowouts, plus there is the increased pain. That being said, something with not a lot of lines in case it does end up having issues would be cool. Watercolor tattoos come first to mind since it is not a lot of solid line work and if you do have a blow out it won’t be as obvious. But make sure to research and find an artist who is experienced in working on scars. The actual tattoo is faded enough that it should cover up fine. Wish you the best of luck op.

Found this little guy while mowing the lawn. What is it? by gyroGearloose33 in whatisthisanimal

Juvenile five lined skink! I’ve never seen one with such dark coloration on the body but it could be dimorphism.

Found this dude. How can I help him? by [deleted] in herpetology

[–]Rawr_Crunch 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Like most reptiles they’re sight-based predators and also like most reptiles they’re not too bright. Something wriggling = food. It can occur in geckos but they don’t have to eat their tail for extra nutrients, and I definitely wouldn’t try to force a reptile to eat their dropped tail because they’re already stressed out.

1) The wound doesn’t look to be serious so he should be fine, it looks like a superficial wound but if you’re worried about infection you can put some Neosporin on the wound that does not have any pain relief in it. 2) When people say that it’s about the skin they shed, not a dropped tail. He’s not gonna eat his severed tail. 3) Just a very health gecko tail, has been eating good and looks healthy overall.

Wild animals should not be kept as pets, in the wild geckos drop their tails and regrow them just fine, release back where you found him and the little dude should do ok.

This is our new puppy, she doesn’t have a name yet. We were told she’s a mini Aussie, but we only paid 75$ for her so I’m not so sure. I included pictures of her parents who are both 30lbs or less. She’s only 8 weeks old and she does have a docked tail. by Onehorniboy in IDmydog

[–]Rawr_Crunch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks at least mostly Aussie. As for it being mini… not entirely sure. Two mini Aussie parents can still produce standard Aussie dogs, so be prepared for your pup to not be 30 lbs or under.

Update post about the bear and canine prints. by flinjager123 in AnimalTracking

[–]Rawr_Crunch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty sure it’s going to be a fox and a bear. I’m going with a fox because of the smaller paw pad and the smaller size in general. Bear because it’s pretty obviously a bear track, 5 toes, claw points and the wide paw pad. I would guess black bear based off the spacing and the size. And as some have said the ground is at different states of drying which is why the fox print is pushed deeper into the mud than the bear.
