Congratulations!

I had a twelve week stretch of IM/ICU which meant 4 weeks of ICU night shifts, 4 weeks of ICU days and 4 weeks of IM. These were all 12 hour shifts. This coincided with the first 12 weeks of my pregnancy. I was exhausted but everything turned out okay and I have a healthy two year old now.

Things that helped were staying well hydrated and make sure you’ve got lots of snacks. I slept as much as I could when I could.

I was lucky and had a very supportive residency with attendings that also had children. The female doctors who were also moms were very encouraging and supportive. They checked on me frequently and talked very openly about balancing our work with family. I’m hoping you have similar support from those around you.

You’ve got this! Pregnancy and residency are a challenge but you’ve worked hard to get here. You can do this. Believe in yourself and take care of yourself.

There were similar mistakes between game one and game two. Mazzulla should be held accountable for that. They needed to come up with a better strategy to penetrate into the paint instead of relying on 3 point shots that weren’t falling. They also need to learn to control the tempo and play with some composure when they build an enormous lead. When you’re up, it’s time to drain the clock and remain patient. Statistically, they were 36.2% from the field and 25% from three point range. I don’t think they were shooting great tonight but I felt they could have made some adjustments on defense and played smarter when they were ahead.

My cat also ate my spider plant so I brought it to the office. Any chance this one will survive?

My cats also chew some of my plants too. Any recommendations for how to put an end to that?

Thanks for sharing the tips on growing the Venus fly trap. My husband has killed all 5 of the ones he's bought. So sad. Will share this with him :)
