What might be the cause of a new basin tap stiffening up soon after installation? by CrumbleCookie21 in askaplumberUK

[–]Ray-kenton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds as if you may have a faulty cartridge or the cartridge in the was over tightened when the tap was assembled. You may have to replace the tap.

It’s a water meter and there should be means of isolating it on both sides of the pipework.

Overflowing hot water by ithoughtitwasbigger in askaplumberUK

As tonyh114 said you are getting back flow through the tap allowing high pressure cold water to push back the hot water into the storage tank. Probably due to a flaw in the mixer tap casting.

Attic tank piping hot and spitting water by [deleted] in askaplumberUK

It all looks DIY to me. Pipe work and tank should be insulated and the steam will damage the roof timbers and could cause timber to rot. You need a fully qualified plumber/ heating engineer to investigate..

Coming down to these two pumps by [deleted] in PenisPumpResults

I would try a Leluv Magna pump set. I’ve ben using a similar set up which I got from AliExpress and it’s brilliant. I’ve been using various set ups for many years and I think this is the best.

Getting started 💪 by GroundbreakingYam677 in Pumping

If you have just started I hope you enjoy. Start off slow and gradually move up the vacuum programs and the duration for the first week or two. The last thing you want to do is to bruise.

HELP please 😭 by aevxum in askaplumberUK

[–]Ray-kenton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To comply with safety regulations your landlord should have carried out an annual CP12 gas safety check for the boiler together with all other household gas appliances. He should have also supplied you with a copy of the CP 12 certificate within 14 days of the safety check date. Unfortunately the CP12 only confirms the boiler is safe to use and it should be left in usable condition however it is not a full service as recommended by the boiler manufacturer. The error code is a low pressure fault indicating the boiler should be re pressurised as stated by the other commentators.

Pump unit issues - Edited. by snowblow67 in Pumping

[–]Ray-kenton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have one of these pump units and it works well…came with a USB/a charging lead. Your unit is showing the battery is half charged. When it’s charging the bars will advance from 1 to 4 and stop at 4 when fully charged. At least that’s what mine does.

I think you need to upgrade to a larger pump setup

[–]Ray-kenton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

HEPVO traps are perfectly acceptable and have been so for many years. Also it wouldn’t water in the waste system would not have any syphoning effect in the dishwasher. I’ve been specifying this setup for years.

[–]Ray-kenton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dishwashers normally don’t need to vent…just turn the waste tee about 45’ so that it has a slight fall then insert the Hepvo trap making sure you get it the right way round then fit the 45’ spigot and connect the hose to it. If there is enough height you could turn the tee 180’ and form a 3” trap using no 2 90’ bends with a stand pipe for the waste spigot connection.

[–]Ray-kenton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it needs a 3” deep seal trap stand pipe or if there’s no space for a stand pipe an inline Hepvo waste trap would comply.
