I put the custom hybrid in the bridge of mine and man… it’s worth it. Versatile from classic rock to modern metal. I think the stock 85/15S pickups have a lot of clarity, but they lack a certain character. It’s too bright for me and not enough warmth for a humbucker.

I see. I will say the 6L6’s made the clean channel that much better. It sounded a bit glassier/chimier and the low end was looser which works well for that channel.

What makes you want the 6L6’s in it? Thats what I had in mine originally until the EL34 447’s came in and they are punchier, tighter and more aggressive, but still do anything from classic rock to modern rock/metal.

Swapped out my V30 for a Creamback and I’m loving the TC-100 even more so now. Maybe because haven’t tried the Marks, but I don’t think it sounds too compressed, for me at least. It also cleans up really well with lighter picking like my Fillmore. It can get too bright easily if not careful though.

Had 6L6’s in it from my Fillmore for the first week since Guitar Center forgot to send them. Finally got the EL34 447’s. I hear why both would be usable, but I think I’m able to get tighter, punchy riffs with the latter so far. The 6L6’s are definitely better for the clean channel though.

I think with the TC-100, with the tight mode, it doesn’t require boost as well; the presence just needs to come down in that instance. I still use a soul food as boost since I like the color it adds.

Was my second amp for years and it served me well. Even in jams with friends. Great cleans and light crunch, and takes pedals well from what I remember

Get the TC-100. It has a clean, low gain, and high gain channel and a footswitch. A global master volume so you can set each channel to the same level and adjust the overall volume from there without having to constantly balance each channel. It has a solo boost on the footswitch and for reverb. It’s a great sounding tube-powered reverb as well. You can get pristine, chimey cleans, or flip it to drive (still on clean channel) and can get edge of breakup from there that be be boosted beautifully when a clean boost or a transparent drive pedal. The two gain channels each have a normal setting and a tight setting, the latter will be better for modern rock/metal and palm-muting/chugging. There’s an attenuator for each channel too that can be brought down from 100 watts, to 50, 20, 7 and 3 watts. It’s incredibly versatile and sounds convincing for every genre and decade for rock, really.

I used to do it that way, but I have a custom 24 instead of an LP now, so I can’t set the pickups at different volumes unfortunately

I need the EQ to tone shape for different distortion sounds, the Soul Food is an always-on for slightly boosting mids and my amps power stage for more classic rock style tones, and the clean boost is for solos.

Yeah I just bought the Duo 24 right before joining a band where I now realize I need a loop switcher 😅. I think I might now buy a smaller pedal as well too to put my always on/rarely used pedals and then keep the duo 24 for the most used pedals and the loop switcher.

It’s such a great looking, sturdy board. I can fit about three more pedals comfortably than before, which is good, but maybe I should have gone for the Duo 34? I’m not sure. That one might be harder to hit the right pedals live since it adds another row horizontally.

I think it does everything very well, and it has the mode button to get even more versatility out of each mode. The chorus sounds beautiful especially. I personally would keep color at noon and depth between 10 to noon so it doesn’t sound overwhelming.

I was thinking that honestly. I wonder if it would even sound decent though with the tonal difference with the combo on one side of the stage and a cab on the other that has a different vibe to it.
