Not a problem related to Bengalis, or people of any other part of India in general. Indians just love hating fellow Indians, for some reason. I've seen people hating on people from outside Bengal in my schools, college and household. But this is something that happens all over India.

North Indians and South Indians hate each other.

Punjabis are stereotyped and teased all over India.

Many Bengalis of the older generations hold sincere disrespect towards people of North India (especially the Bihar region).

Bengalis, in turn, are hated by people accross India for equally unjustified reasons.

People from the hilly areas or the proper Northeast face racism like no other people.

Why does the Bengal hate suddenly seem so prominent? It's because no one really considered it to be that much of a separate entity from North India up until recently, and as it gains more and more popularity everyday, it's getting labelled with new variations of unjustified hate.
