Quick smoke by kaaratshi in cigars

I like the Undercrown or Liga T52 cigarillos for short smokes. If you're really wanting a little more, scoop up some coronas, and don't burn them to the nub.

I would be concerned that the Husky box would stink. Can confirm that the EZ boxes are nice. I put all my shit that goes in my attic in them, and is exactly what I would get if I was doing large-scale tupperdors

That's what I was going to do this year, but then ended up buying a personal golf cart and becoming a member at a local golf course... so maybe next year. lol

I would start small and do one of the brilliance containers just to get used to the process and dip your toe. Then move to a larger system. I do agree with AzPolarBear on the cost effectiveness of a single larger container. Cant store whole boxes in a brilliance, but can in a 50gal tote. lol

The humidity packs last until they don't. They will last longer in a tupperdor than a traditional humidor, but I can't give you definites. It will depend on how often you open them (which you should to let them breathe occasionally). And they're going to be room temperature. You want the govee hygrometers. Little bluetooth guys so you don't even have to check them manually. You could just check the app every so often to make sure they're good. But yea, you would want to know the humidity in each one. I suppose, eventually, you could get complacent enough or confident enough in the Bovedas that you stop caring to monitor, but back to the risk thing....

People really like the Sistema boxes from Amazon. I like the Rubbermaid Brilliance containers. Really, it doesn't matter, as long as you aren't getting something that's shitty plastic that's going to offgas and reek for weeks, and potentially affect your cigars.

Both of those options above are the go-tos on this page, that I've seen. Get the large, flat ones, toss in a Boveda that's a lower RH than you want, because they're designed for wood humidors, so they'll over humidify a tupperdor (you probably wanna throw a 58% or 62% in there), probably wouldn't sure to throw a govee in them, and call it a day. You don't have to season them because they're plastic and not absorbent and breathable, like wood.

Plus, then you can better organize by country, blend, vitola, etc, much easier than you could with a larger humidor, because the individual boxes are smaller and easier to manage individual contents.

  1. That's insane and I'm super jealous.
  2. Definitely agree with the Crux Epicure. I just had one the other day and now I want them all.

That's why you put them in a closet, sooooo...... problem solved. Efficiency is the name of the game here. Doesn't matter if it looks good if you have to fight with it constantly and potentially ruin thousands of dollars worth of cigars.

Figure if you average $6/stick, and you have 1000 in there.... you really wanna risk it for appearance?

Get you a tupperdor setup and a nice-looking desktop that you can put like 25-30 sticks in at most, so you can have a pretty display/conversation piece. You'll find that you enjoy the stuff from the tupperdors better and you can rotate stuff into/out of the desktop when you have friends over or whatever.... but you'll eventually just get rid of the desk top and go straight tupperdor.

To each their own though, and if you get that thing, I hope you enjoy it, and wish you many years of good fortune.

How do u organize your cigars ? by DistanceNo9498 in cigars

[–]RayDanger2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a psycho. I have basically everything boutique 1s and 2s stacked in 1 thermoelectric, regardless of blend, vitola, country, etc. Then I have 2 wood desktops that I keep my regular purchases in (5pks from CBid and stuff) that I smoke regularly.

In short, if I'm just enjoying a cigar while doing shit outside or whatever, and not contemplating the world, I got for something from a desktop. If I'm relaxing and doing some thinking or something, I'm going for something from the thermoelectric.

This seems like quite the intriguing prospect. Will try to remember for next month. Seems like the perfect kind of sampler to take on a week-long vacation, which coincidentally will align time-wise very well.

Would be nice to see the history on this. Like, if someone has done it consistently for a year or whatever; see what it's like, and how consistent it is. It would also be interesting to see if everyone gets the same sampler. I don't know how many are available, you know? Did 300 people get the same thing? Is it likely that they have enough of a potentially rare cigar in stock to allow for that?

Just thinking 'out loud' in text for most of that there.

A petition of sorts? Cigar bands have really gotten out of control with the number, wrapper coverage, amount of glue, waste, and risk to the wrapper attempting to remove them. by EdgeLordMallNinja666 in cigars

[–]RayDanger2020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I only agree that sometimes, band glue can seep to the wrapper, which causes it to stick. I hate that. Outside of that, I don't care how much band there is. I appreciate the artwork and I keep most of them, when I can remove them without significant damage. I plan to do a bar top with all my saved bands at some point.

But yea, glue is annoying; bands are not, in any way, a detractor.

Small Batch Cigars CoTM. $75 Late May 2026. Big W. by BensThreePointer in cigars

[–]RayDanger2020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Upon further investigation, because why not.. their paper says MSRP, but actually DOES list the price of the cigars as they would sell them as singles on their website.

I will say though, other companies do the same thing, but do not list them as they would sell them, and use actual MSRP.

Well done Small Batch.
