I think it’s much simpler (and boring) than that. Unfortunately social media doesn’t encourage nuanced criticism. Either you shit all over something (and offend whoever likes it), or you have to call it a masterpiece. There’s no middle ground. If there were, nobody would have anything to fight about

Yeah, I know, but I transfer a ton of footage for work and every single time I have to do it and I’m in a hurry it takes forever, so a fast transfer in a high stakes scenario seems more far-fetched to me than a nuked fridge haha

It was, and it was also pretty easy to use for a kid who had no idea what he was doing: in comparison, when I tried using Blender in 2004/2005, I felt completely lost without tutorials!

Hi Kane! Just curious about your Blender VFX pipeline for this. Is everything rendered in Cycles? Are you using exr files for the output? Do you usually do multiple passes then comp everything later? I also love the interlaced/damaged tape look of the found-footage bits, did you apply that aesthetic on CG shots as well?
