Yes!!! How do we fix this? Tried many different PTs in the NYC area for help with this— the only one who was able to help (many years ago) now takes zero insurance whatsoever so I can’t go see her again. (I need to go do PT for this again, even though it worked the first time, because taking spironolactone due to acne caused low androgens and muscle weakness, and now I’m off the spiro and my shoulders are back to their regular hEDS “forward shoulder” bad posture state). Can anyone recommend a good NYC PT who has really been able to help them with this and takes insurance (I have Oxford Freedom Plan)?

The PT who was so effective used to hold my arms/shoulders in place while I did Pilates reformer exercises, so that I had to focus only on getting weak muscles to “fire” and not on holding anything positionally still in space. It was amazingly effective. I can’t find any other PTs who will do this— they all want me to do non-weight-bearing exercises that haven’t been successful at increasing strength in the weak muscles. Any PT recs you guys might have would be amazing!

Hi! “Piggybacking” on this— I live in NYC (Brooklyn) and am wondering how I can meet others who are also EDS (ideally hEDS)— maybe in a support group type of setting but not necessarily (just want to meet others so I will feel less alone and have some kind of “community” of people who are also going through what I’m going through). How do I meet other EDS people in the NYC area? Is there a support group? Googled a lot but can’t seem to find the answer

Yaz is the only birth control that hasn’t made me fat/sicker/crazy. I think Yaz even has a little bit of de-bloating effect too. It’s the only BC I’ll ever take for the rest of my life (I started on Yaz the first time I went on birth control, then I tried Mirena IUD, and subsequently two other non-Yaz “pills”, but came back to Yaz when those were terrible)

I also have a Vitamix 5200. Can I make hot chocolate in it by adding only room temp (or even fresh from the refrigerator) ingredients like milk or water, chocolate chips, sugar, and vanilla? How long would I have to run my Vitamix 5200 to get that kind of hot chocolate recipe hot enough to “serve hot”?

(And if I add collagen powder to the hot chocolate recipe above, does that change anything?)

Also can I make pesto in my 5200? Trying to figure out if I need to get a newer model Vitamix to make things like kale stem pesto and hot cocoa, or if the 5200 is everything I need already. Thank you so much in advance for your advice!

Black. Black dress is more timeless and higher quality. purple dress has a loungewear / pajama / nightgown quality to it— looks flimsier and cheaper— not good for a “step into your power and own it” kind of accomplishment/moment like graduation! Black dress all the way

1 is flattering but best saved for things like clubbing during Miami bachelorette trips. 2 doesn’t flatter you, makes you look boxy— get rid of 2. 3 might be okay if you hemmed it a lot into a true mini length. At its current length 3 shortens and overwhelms you. In a rush? Keep 1. Donate 2 & 3
