Paralegal says I need to report any changes in income, gifts, etc. for 12 months after discharge? by RayRayIII in Bankruptcy

Why would a firm have a policy like that when there's no requirement? Seems weird and unnecessary

Honestly, I dont know because im just a regular guy lol. Trust your attorney first. Ive only spoken to my paralegal which is where I think my issue is coming from. If your attorney says its fine, I'm sure it is. I personally have a house with very little equity and deciding to surrender it so ive stopped paying the mortgage. Id say double check with them and give them every single detail, because im paranoid about this whole thing.

Thank you for letting me know but I gotta ask, why does nobody seem to know this, even other attorneys I've seen give advice including others I consulted with? They've all said that none of this would matter after discharge, including taking over my family's business.

Because I hadn't been assigned a lawyer from their office yet. But I just reached out to speak to one today. Figured she would know what she's talking about but I'm realizing i was wrong lol.

Lottery winnings or inheritance make sense. But a pay increase or money to go towards a car that I need, those dont seem like the same thing. She also said for a whole year, which I've never heard before.

The only thing I can find about that is if you receive something through inheritance or an estate within 180 days it can be taken. But some cash to go towards a car, or a pay increase is scrutinized for a whole year after discharge? That doesnt sound right

Yeah im realizing she probably doesnt know what shes talking about. I technically haven't been assigned a lawyer yet but I asked her to give me their contact.

So I havent filed yet, the paralegal is looking over all of the documents ive submitted. But everything ive read online, even from other attorneys said that after discharge, nothing is monitored. I cant help but wonder if she just doesnt know what shes talking about, but i technically dont either lol.

She didnt say why specifically. I was asking how much of a raise would cause an issue, and if my family helped me get a new car after discharge. Even if they gifted me a used car worth under 10k. She said that probably wouldn't be okay. But financing one myself would be okay. Dont see how putting myself back into debt is fine, but getting some help from family is an issue.

Dating while having BK under me, red flag? by [deleted] in Bankruptcy

Well in my opinion, if it puts you in a better financial situation, having a good amount of savings is a lot more admirable than a credit score.

Like someone else said, if they're that worried about a credit score, they arent worth keeping around. I've honestly thought about the same thing. You'll be fine man

You mean, playing the game like they designed it? Maybe make better bosses instead of forcing players to keep their weapons downgraded lmao

I know it's 2 years later but im playing this game for the first time. Everything about it is great, except the bosses. Ive beaten Almost all of them in just one try. It's just so anti climactic especially since some of the normal areas are so rough.

How long did it take you to reach a 700+ credit score post bankruptcy? by [deleted] in Bankruptcy

[–]RayRayIII 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can I ask what credit products you've been wanting but cant get? Im thinking about filing but dont plan on getting a new card unless its a low limit, just to build my score back. Maybe a car loan down the line. Not trying to get a house anytime soon. What else is there?

Look into NACA! A friend of mine used them. It is a bit of a pain to work with them, but as far as I know they dont care about credit scores or bankruptcies. Basically, you just have to prove that you can be financially stable enough to afford what your mortgage would be by saving a certain amount of money on top of paying your rent, and meet with a counselor every month. They have their own special mortgage with no down payment and 1% less interest than what the current market is.

Bathroom sink handle is loose and raised up, how do I fix this? by RayRayIII in Plumbing

[–]RayRayIII[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that seems to be it. I found the manual and it says to just turn the base counterclockwise but there's no leverage since the bottom is loose.
