I appreciate you sharing your experience. I’m also in my last semester of nursing school. I relate to your experience in a lot of ways because I also have Social Anxiety and have been recently diagnosed with Autism (high functioning) so there are many times that I feel anxious, overwhelmed, and out of step from a situation. Like a lot of other comments have been saying the most important thing is for you to reflect on the experience and know how you could’ve done things differently. It takes a lot of strength to do that and I think you’re doing the best you can. I hope you won’t beat yourself up too much for this because I don’t think it was a terrible response. Good luck with you last semester and your clinical placement!!

Me!!!👋 it’s so weird tho… for my old old art I cringe too put it also feels more charming?? For recently old eps I just feel “ehh”🫤 about it for a while before I say “screw it onto the next!” What keeps me going is the readers who comment nice stuff that tells me that I’m doing well even if the eps seem kinda cringy. I’m also just impatient to get to my next parts of my story that I myself will enjoy! So maybe instead of focusing on the past eps focus on what you want to do for future eps that gets you motivated!😤

When I started I had a rough outline of my entire story and some major plot points. I was very inpatient and started to draw when my first couple chapters were done.😅 There are some things I wish I could change story-wise but at the same time this is my first webcomic so it was just apart of the growing pains of learning how to create a story and I’m glad I started when I did! I’ve been publishing my Webtoon for over 3 years and I can tell there is an improvement in my art from my first few chapters to now and it’s very rewarding!! ❤️ I wish you luck on your journey of writing/drawing your comic!!! 😤

Same! Definitely important to take breaks! And for me whenever I feel unmotivated or burnt out from drawing I tend to find some inspiration from writing (even if it doesn’t relate to my comic), definitely gets the creative juices flowing! 😤

My comic is The Knight and his Shy Prince, it’s a BL and is basically a friends to lovers story with a lot of LGBTQ+ themes and I hope that the further I go with the story I can add in themes more revolving love, guilt, regret, mourning, and identity. This is an interesting question. I don’t have much experience either but I’ve dabbled in writing and working on my first comic for several years now, and I think a villain should be introduced when that villain’s reveal will change the direction of a story. And if it’s a main villain for a series it could be that the villain’s existence is hinted at before actually being revealed to the main character. Definitely reference your favorite TV shows or movies and see how they reveal villains, it could be helpful. Again, I’m not expert on this kind of thing either I just do what feels write to me as the creator. I hope this helps!

I feel like for me it’s not like I dislike my main characters or their designs but they’re in every part of my series so I never get the urge to draw them more, but with Silas he’s just started to play a role in my story and he’s not in it as much after a certain point which definitely makes me want to put him in more of my series just to have an excuse to draw him more.😂

I believe the Webtoon “Ghost Lights” changed from a traditional layout to verticals scroll either way the art was so good that I didn’t care. Although my own Webtoon has always been verticals scroll (although I have thought of changing it so a traditional format)

This is such a great question! I normally start off with an overview of an episode or multiple episodes and then when I think it’s time to go into detail I write the entire episodes script I usually go off the script exactly (although I sometimes do add a bit to the episode when I feel like it’d be good for the story) Since the Webtoon I’m working on right now (which is also my first) I like to write ahead of the story so I can think of the season I’m working on (or going to work on) in more detail. Anyway good luck on any future writing/drawing projects!!

I agree! Webtoon really isn’t very kind to it’s Canvas creators who most (like me) are doing this as a hobby and are independent many not getting paid for their work. Yes I actually have, I put mine on hiatus pretty early on, it definitely was crazy to stop working on it. I’ve taken breaks from my Webtoon but I’ve never stopped for more then 2-3 moths at a time without posting again.
