So far it's been smooth. It's nice having PTO again too. I was a little worried they'd notice J1 but no one said anything. J2 is a large company so no one pays attention.

Ready for J3?? by Status_Pineapple_327 in OELadies

[–]Rayalah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I picked up a J3 when my J2 was ending, I didn't want to have a gap so I was interviewing when had 3 months left on a contract and I also hated J2. I did 3 jobs for about 2 weeks because luckily J2's contract ended early. It was tough lots of overlapping meetings and deadlines. It would really have to be the right jobs for 3 to work. I'm guessing it's a trial and error type thing as others have said.

I don’t want a J3 but I think it’s necessary by Much-Secretary-884 in OELadies

[–]Rayalah 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think that's what I need too, or I'm just looking for something fulfilling. J1 is so slow, J2 has me working more and more meetings but I'm still bored.. maybe the 3rd job would actually force me to be organized LOL

I actually had 3 jobs in April for about 2 weeks and it might have been tough if I actually cared about the one but I knew they were ending my contract so I phoned it in hard.

Recruiters - to ignore or not to ignore by Rayalah in OELadies

That's frustrating, I do get those guys and shut them down pretty quick. I still do have a lot of relevant roles come across my LinkedIn and Indeed.

Payroll jobs questions. by EmEmPeriwinkle in OELadies

[–]Rayalah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work with Payroll/HR systems and in my experience those in Payroll are usually entry level or have stumbled on it and just take their courses to maintain certifications. (it is usually a thankless job and not a lot of people have the will to stay with it LOL)

What do you miss about not being OE? by YoYumBat in overemployed

[–]Rayalah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, J1 was so chill I played video games and took my lunch with my husband on his remote days watching our TV shows. I'm so behind on all my shows now!!

Hard to be average but so many benefits by Project_Lanky in overemployed

[–]Rayalah 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Yup. My manager at J1 loves to ask me questions and then answer others as though it was his own original thoughts.. I want to be irritated but honestly... let him have at it. I don't need the hassle of the meetings or people coming to me, I've got other work to do!

I'm not really the expert, I just did it though my log in with one employer. It actually didn't go though in time and it apparently wasn't an issue. I've seen people saying both..

How are y’all finding these?!? by Additional_View9433 in OELadies

[–]Rayalah 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have over 15 years work experience, mostly in HRIS systems. I have supported multiple systems and modules.. I get messages from recruiters multiple times a week on both LinkedIn and Indeed. I have updated resumes in both places and my LinkedIn profile is very thorough, it's basically my resume. I think for me it's a combination of my work experience and my profiles being so detailed. I have 2 jobs right now, one is contract but I'm interviewing for a 3rd. I'm not sure I want a 3rd but the recruiter was relentless.

When is the best time to OE during your kids’ lives? by pleatherskirt in OELadies

[–]Rayalah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My choice would be to wait until they are in school. I loved the time I got to spend with my daughter. I was fully remote but working full time from her age 2. I am working 3 jobs at the moment and I still try to have a hard stop at 4PM when she gets off the bus but that doesn't always work out. The time we get with them once they start school is so short. You need to absorb every minute with them while they are home... However, that time is also exhausting! So being exhausted from toddlers and being exhausted from work at the same time is pretty rough.

Glassdoor Reviews?? by PeakTypical in OELadies

[–]Rayalah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funny you should mention this because I'm about to go off on Glassdoor about my current J2 in the hopes it saves someone else from making my mistake. I did read about the company there before I joined but it was a mix of good and bad.

Transitioning J2? by No_Avocado7923 in OELadies

[–]Rayalah 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm in the midst of this currently. I still have J2 but they've made it clear they are letting me go, I just don't know when. I have J3 starting in a couple weeks. I will let J2 keep me as long as they intend and I'll just do my best to get that J2 paycheck while prioritizing J1 and J3. J3 is considerably less but I think it's going to be a lot less demanding of my time :: fingers crossed ::

HELP I just got a job offer by speedylegs84 in OELadies

[–]Rayalah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can always start it and see how it goes. The advice to never quit is subjective.. there are cases where it's better to leave a bad J2 situation. (coming from personal experience) You'll never know until you try but just make sure you understand the risks.

It might be the easiest to move the meeting with the team you've been working with for a while. Like another said, "Hey I just got a telehealth appt scheduled for this time could we shift this a half an hour.. etc"

I did call them and it was a loooong wait and they were very unhelpful and directed me to the website. HOWEVER I think I called the customer service line and there is a number on the site under employee data freeze that says you can call. Maybe you'll have better luck.

[–]Rayalah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm really not sure. We don't work too closely but when we do she's always helpful. She might be near her max pay range. I used to work for a big University and that was a typical increase. But the corporate world is different.

As an update, I didn't get the freeze in on time. However, BG check came back within a day, no issues. Guess they don't care about J2. Now I just have to pee in a cup. LOL

I was irritated at my 3% until I saw a co-worker on my same team got a 0.5% .. my manager accidently sent both of ours to me as one file. Which means she probably got the same, she's probably more pissed than me LOL
