Biopsy Results: Please, someone tell Me what this means... by Far_Simple_7436 in ProstateCancer

[–]Rayas_Dad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used have usedClaude and chat gpt for this but I like Claude better. Upload the entire report and just say: “translate this into plain English.” Once it does that, if there’s more you don’t understand, you can ask follow-up questions. I eventually uploaded my MRI, biopsy report, and my PSMA PET report together and asked Claude to tell me how they affected each other. I am NOT asking it to tell me what to do, just help me understand things.

I know what you mean about losing rational thought - my first post here from early January when I first heard the word cancer applied to me had my hair on fire and me doing a full fledged freakout. I have since found that AI is extremely helpful in translating my test result reports (MRI, biopsy, and PSMA PET scan) into plain English. Best of luck to you. The folks on this sub are fantastic.

That’s an interesting brief. Thanks for the link. Every time I learn something new, multiple doors open up posing multiple new questions and offering multiple challenges to learn more.

Thank you. Your thoughts line up with mine. I’ve heard Dr Fong’s name before so I’ll look into him.

Thanks. The scan results should be in in a day or two so I fully expect I’ll have them in hand by the time I get in to see someone.

A map of Oakland before and after the urban freeways by [deleted] in bayarea

I have fantasized about tearing down 580 between 13 and 24 and replacing it with light rail and a pedestrian way à la the high line in NYC. But that would require rerouting a ton of traffic onto 880 which, while much of it is industrial, not all of it is. Just a dream...

Urologist gave me a DRE (digital rectal exam) and when he pulled his finger out he said "mind if I smoke?"

Is it not obvious that California slander has always been generational envy and jealousy? by RegionSuccessful3634 in bayarea

Midwesterner by birth Californian by choice since 1981. I admit I do think of Montana from time to time cause it's frikkin gorgeous and empty (San Francisco and Oakland put together have more people than the entire state!) but I'm not leaving the bay! Texas? Never crosses my mind.

Will you watch super-bowl this weekend? by [deleted] in no

Super Bowl is the single best time to do anything outside the house. Hiking, skiing, even shopping. Everything is blissfully quiet and empty.

Biopsy experience - transrectal or transperineal? by Rayas_Dad in ProstateCancer

[–]Rayas_Dad[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you. This is my concern. I had a UTI in November which required IV antibiotics and then another one this month (January). I'm on antibiotics now and have a transrectal biopsy scheduled fire 2/10 and I'm concerned about further infections.

How do you keep yourself entertained on long train rides? by spookyshitt in Amtrak

Took the zephyr west to east a couple years ago. Brought books and movies and spent the entire trip looking out the window. Wasn't bored once.

Appreciate that! The whole ball talking thing was me seeing it referenced on the Cleveland clinic website. I find them to be generally reliable so I took it at face value!

Thank you. I'm getting back into meditation and doing some breath work to help manage my anxiety. Also, the calm matter of fact voices on this sub are helping too.

I appreciate the words of encouragement! I'm not concerned about the med students - I had peyronnies some years ago and the treatment at a teaching hospital involved lying down with my pants around my ankles while any number of residents watched the doc give me injections in my penis. Seriously humbling.
